It's 20 minutes from town down narrow, steep, winding dirt roads, so make sure you have a car. Watch the video to understand the last road, which look like it goes nowhere. The place is at the end of that "road." Beautiful views from the dome. There's a decently equipped kitchenette, and oil and coffee are provided. Best place I ever stayed. And Carlos is so nice.

Jose is an excellent host who went above and beyond, with pick-up's/drop-off's at check-in and check-out and helping arrange onward transportation from Monteverde.

Javier, Roger and the team were brilliant. They went out of their way to make us feel very special - it was my boyfriend's birthday and they decorated the room to help me surprise him. The tent is spacious, the bed comfortable and humongous and everything you need to make a quick meal if needed. You are surrounded by the forest and you fall asleep to the sound of the forest, wind and rain. We didn't see any animals except a couple of spiders but you hear the birds in trees the moment the sun goes up.

You just have to ask and Wilma and Frano will do their best to accommodate you.The site itself is super quiet. I only had to look up to see monkeys, parrots and a great variety of birds. The kitchen was well equiped. I loved every minute of my stay there. Going to the beach was an adventure and my dogs loved the walk there. They struggled a bit crossing the river over a suspended log, but that was part of the adventure:) I only want to add that this is rough camping, simple and secluded. If this is what you are looking for, you will be in heaven.
