This is one of the best hostel I ever stayed I booked glamping. Carol was amazing and she is always there to help you with anything you needed. I met some great people in the hostel also close to the beach and all the restaurants Around there. Plus an amazing pool I would recommend it to anyone thanks for the great experience.

hands down the best hostel i have ever stayed in! staff is wonderful and hostel is super clean. we traveled for a few weeks thru Costa Rica and this was the only hostel that didn’t have bugs in the bedroom and kitchen area wad always clean. vibes are incredible and super easy to make new friends!

The fact that i ended up extending my stay at Mai Ke Kai to over twice longer than initially planned tells it all! I had such a great time, and the place really felt like home from the very first moment. I was so comfortable there that I could have stayed forever! I made some friends, took a surf lesson (they offer discounts!) and had such good sleeps in the soft bed! The location is in the heart of Tamarindo yet I saw a monkey jumping on a tree nearby and a humming-bird a few times too! Everything was just beyond perfect. Cannot wait for the next trip in Tamarindo to visit again.

Comfy beds and clean facilities. The kitchen was great. The staff were awesome. Marco who runs the hostel is also a surf instructor and gave me quality surf lessons. He also helped me get a ride to the airport from one of his friends. It’s super easy to meet fellow travelers here and I met a bunch of cool people during my stay. It’s not a party hostel, but it’s still easy to find people go out with.

The atmosphere was exceptional. The stuff was great and very helpful. The location is perfect, close enough to everything (beach, food & city center) but located in a spot where you can sleep in peace and no party noises. They have security at night, who also takes care that other guests are quiet at night. They have a big kitchen with a lot of room for your own purchase.

Omar, the owner/manager was the sweetest and most helpful person. I got a free upgrade to a room with a private bathroom which I really appreciated. The kitchen is well equiped and cleaned thoroughly daily by the staff. The hostel is located right across the street from a beach access path so it takes about 2 minutes to get to the beach. Free drinking water is included. (The restaurant, Soda Buffet El Estero, in the parking lot of Tsunami is amazing!)
