Hostels in Sigiriya

Lovely and welcoming place for a solo traveller. Much nicer location than touristy Sigirya and they will help drop you off at the station by tuktuk. Very unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle and you feel like you're part of a big hostel family :)

I stayed here for 4 nights and ı definitely recommend. They helped me about transportation, laundry, trips.. The breakfast was included, ıt was really good and the portions are really big. The owner of the place and especially her wife they’re really friendly. I was not even going out for dinner, ı was eating at the hostel(she cooks). It feels like a homestay. I’m really happy that ı stayed here on my Sigiriya time.

One aspect that truly set this hotel apart was its commitment to representing true nature. From the moment I stepped outside, I was surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest. The hotel's design incorporated natural materials and elements, such as wood, stone, and greenery, which created a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Lovely stay. This is a newly opened hostel perfect for seeing Sigiriya! It’s only about a 10 minute tuk tuk ride to the rock and about 10-15 minutes walking to some restaurants and shops. This is the cleanest hostel I stayed at in Sri Lanka. You can smell the freshness in the bathrooms and the towels smell so clean. The rooms also have air conditioning. Above all, the family is so personable and kind. The breakfast is also affordable and was so tasty - the best breakfast I had in my one month visit in Sri Lanka. 100% recommend :)

Such a kind and warm welcoming family. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Channa arranged a cooking class for me with a local lady and offered pick up services with his Tuk Tuk. The breakfast made by sister was really good each morning with different traditional Sri Lanka food! Really peaceful place with only a 20min easy stroll to the town. Really loved my time here❤️

Staying at Hello Aliya feels less like a hostel and more like staying at an old friend’s house. The owner Isu is incredibly kind and respectful. The hostel is brand new so everything is incredibly clean. It is situated just off the main road. 2 minute walk to the bus stop, 10 mins walk to the entrance of Lion’s Rock, and a 10 minute drive to Pidurangala peak. I really enjoyed my stay there. As a solo woman, I felt safe and welcomed. The breakfast is lovely and the staff even taught me how to play carrom. After one month of traveling Sri Lanka, this is by far my favorite hostel.

Kostha was really nice and helped me a lot from the very beginning. He toured me around and really helped me a lot when I lost my camera. They also served very nice food especially for dinner. Kostha built everything on his own, he's so hardworking and really kind. If you need a chill place to stay this is the perfect place.

it’s near to pudrurangala rock and lion rock also u can rent a bicycle to see the village and to see the lake the owner is good man he take for a tour to see his farm of rice and and river side
