The staff at the Hostel is amazing - Elsa and Alejandro in particular stood out. The Hostel was incredibly clean. I enjoyed a private room (P6) with my own bathroom. Breakfast was included and was standard. Coffee was available all morning. There were always activities planned and that could be booked. There were lots of places to sit and read. The staff are incredibly helpful in recommending where to go and what to do. They even arranged for my transportation from the airport in Managua. Even though I was a lot older than other guests (I'm in my mid-50s), I felt incredibly welcome and comfortable here.

Breakfasts made by Yanet were excellent and different each day with fruits, eggs, rice and beans (gallo pinto) and coffee. The core family (Hébert, Yanet and their son Lester) with whom I dealt with everyday are truly genuine people, they have helped me 200% with research on land/houses in that area (my goal when I visited Nicaragua), We had excellent conversations, like I never had in other Latin countries, all in all if you want to understand this amazing country more and you speak Spanish, you will learn a lot. Also, members of the family are master potters, they have a small studio downstairs where you can buy their work and also, very recently, take a ceramics course on site. Don't forget to ask them who is 'Leo'
