NicaraguaThere are flowers everywhere. Its like living in a beautiful garden. I loved it. The staff and owner are fabulous. Im only sorry that it was such a last minute short stay. I did not get to fully enjoy all that was offered. It is a very beautiful hidden gem. I will come again for longer and enjoy myself.

The cultural richness, the food, the friendly people.
The cultural richness, the food, the friendly people. Lots of fresh fruit vendors, tostone burger at Tosto Metro. Transport was fairly easy to use despite language difference - we found our way to Leon, the Isletas and Opoyo; and even went to Costa Rica.
Beautiful buildings to see, houses and shops are colourfully decorated. Buildings are historic and seem to be valued. Lots of churches/cathedrals which are very ornate and still in use.
Souvenirs available at the market which seems to be open most days.

I was there for about a week and did the volcano tour, city tour, and the island boat tour. There are excellent restaurants (like El Capitan) there with top notch food and drink. Knowing some Spanish helps, but you could get by with How much is it? Please and thank you.
Also please support Cafe de las Sonrisas, it's a café that employs those with hearing problems, such as what runs in my family.

Granada is a great small colonial city with wonderful architecture and history. The location is central for day trips. The local people are very friendly and helpful. I would really recommend a stay in Granada to compliment your Nicaraguan journey.

Historic, plenty of nice restaurants, nightlife.
Historic, plenty of nice restaurants, nightlife. Square was great! Fun city to walk around in. Horse and buggy rides were available and you could also take a boat tour of Lake Nicaragua with all it’s lovely little islands.

Loved the Sol y Sombra (Sun and shade) cafe. We were here for a 3 day weekend and that's enough time. Granada is not that big. The beaches aren't the best due to being on a lake rather than the ocean so there is a lot of trash that is probably impossible to keep clean. Absolutely check out Mi Ranchito restaurant and Masaya Volcano on the way.

Granada is very hot if you’re not used to that type of weather. Unfortunately, since it’s very touristy children approach you with a hope of you giving them money. Other than that, Granada is very beautiful and has lots to offer. We really enjoyed the city tour and being able to learn more about the history of Granada. The isletas tour is great and very fun. We had fritanga from Caña de Castilla, the wait was long but very worth it and delicious. Will go again when visiting Granada.

Beautiful boutique hotel a short walk to everything you need to get to in granada! Beautiful pool which was perfect to escape from the heat of Granada. Great breakfast every morning with the choice of three options and the staff were really helpful. Organise a brilliant massage for me as well after I put my back out! If you pay in cash as well you get a free Nica cigar - that’s my dads Xmas present sorted!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Granada for a quick overnight for hot showers and laundry service. Staff was wonderful, accommodations were great; breakfast was delicious. WONDEFUL location! My daughter wants to bring friends back to Granada for her 16th birthday trip and we plan to stay at Casa del Consulado when we return next summer!

A lovely hotel. Decorated and designed really well with a nice pool and rooms. Yves was a great host, very helpful with good recommendations and sorted us out with trips and taxis. The breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly. Really well located for walking around Granada.
