If you are planning on cycling the Shimanami Kaido (and even if you aren’t!) I’d highly recommend taking a detour from the main route and spending some time here.

Hostel & Tatami Bar Uchikobare er staðsett í Uchiko, nokkrum skrefum frá Machiya Resource Center og 200 metrum frá Omura Residence. This dorm has a very nice cafe downstairs and its location is great. The hosts were very friendly and the facilities are good. Also very practical that it can be booked online.

Located in Mitsuhama, 2.1 km from Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine, 三津ミーツ provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. Very clean and suprisingly calm quiet even full of house.

Located in Ōzu and within 400 metres of Garyu Sanso Villa, はたご屋 霧中 features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. The owner was very hospitable, and I immediately felt at home. The room and all the facilities were very clean, and everything was comfortable—even though I shared the shower with other guests. In the morning, he kindly offered me coffee, which was wonderful. The location is also excellent—right in the middle of town, with everything accessible by walking distance, and I could even park my car close by for free. Overall, it’s a simple, small place, nothing fancy, but very, very nice.

Located in Uwajima, 400 metres from Taga Shrine, Dear Uうわじまゲストハウス＆カフェ offers air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. The kindness of strangers in Uwajima will forever stay with me. The owners are wonderful, the people of the city no less so. Several of my best memories of my pilgrimage so far is of this place and this guesthouse. I cannot reccomend it higher to anyone looking for a nice stay and nice people.

木の家ゲストハウス松山ドミトリー館 is set in Matsuyama, 3.9 km from Botchan Train Museum and 4.1 km from Ishitegawa Park. The host is friendly sweet helpful & accommodating

Located in Imabari, within 17 km of Henjou-in Temple and 18 km of Kawara Museum, コハクイマバリ provides accommodation with a shared lounge and as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Communication was exceptional. Quick response to questions and extremely helpful. House is spacious, clean and modern. Great equipment to cook in the kitchen which was great with a family. Comfortable beds and the bathroom was great. Really good to have the washing machine available. Warm place with heat pumps in every room. Loved it. The lady who welcomed us and say goodbye was super kind and lovely.
