The "bed" is actually a neatly patitioned cubicle where I can stand up as if in a room. Hostel located right in the walkway up to the must-go temple, with restaurants open till late left and right. Super clean. Hostel of good design: showers, toilets, kitchen, coffee machine etc on ground floor while beds on upper levels, so very quiet for good sleep. Lots of common space to relax in. Staff helpful and informative responding with plenty eating and drinking options. Check in and out can be fully electronic, while staff in place during reasonable hours.

Set in Tosa and within 22 km of Daizen-ji Temple, Hostel John Mang ゲストハウス ジョン has free bikes, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. Great location to take the ferry. The hostess Mari was so welcoming and gave a comprehensive and clear explanation/tour in English and she gave off great energy.

Located in Sukumo, ゲストハウス アルベルゲ Guesthouse ALBERGUE SAKURA features free bikes, garden, shared lounge, and free WiFi throughout the property. Cozy and not crowded place to rest, it had great value

Next Chapter - Guesthouse - Kito er staðsett í Uinouchi og býður upp á garð, sameiginlega setustofu og verönd. This is, without a doubt, the most enchanting place we have stayed in Japan so far. Every aspect of this guesthouse exudes thoughtfulness and care, crafted with a deep sense of love for the details. The beds are luxuriously comfortable, everything gleams with immaculate cleanliness, and the communal spaces are a perfect blend of tranquility and functionality, ideal for unwinding or even working, thanks to the excellent Wi-Fi. Alrik, the heart and soul of this guesthouse, is an exceptional host—kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. His fluency in both English and Japanese were impressive, and his local recommendations were great - we even made friends with some of the local people and would love to return one day to see them all again. The village itself, nestled in the serene ambience of Kito's mountains and untouched nature, is a gem. It offers everything you could need: a delightful local restaurant, a couple of convenience stores, a delicious coffee stand, and even a small yet captivating photography gallery. Originally, we planned for just two nights here, but the allure of this place held us for five. It’s a testament to how magical it truly is, and we hope to return someday to relive the experience.

Located in Sanuki, 13 km from Yakuri-ji Temple, 宿 inn TEK-TEK provides accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge. The host is so friendly and has made many considerations for guests such as laundry facilities, towel rentals, first aid kit rentals, sewing kit rentals and more. You can rent bikes, buy toiletries, and buy snacks and beers from the kitchen. Excellent place for pilgrims doing the Shikoku 88 Temples and you can tell the host has made many considerations with pilgrims in mind. Even if you are not a pilgrim it is an excellent place as it is so close to beautiful hikes and nature. Less than 5 minutes walk from a convenience store, and a well equipped kitchen if you'd like to cook. The dorm beds are comfortable and private. I loved my stay here and would stay again.

Ichi The Hostel er staðsett í Minamicho, 48 km frá Tokushima-stöðinni og býður upp á gistingu með garði, einkabílastæði, sameiginlegri setustofu og verönd. One of my favorite stays on the Henro. Veggie friendly for meals, card friendly, English is spoken. We booked a private room and it was just beautiful. Down to the smallest detail, everything was so well thought of. Would love to stay again.

Very, very nice staff, on-site bar is super chill (shame that everyone else on site that day is Japanese - my Japanese isn't enough for a good conversation). Clean rooms / beds and plenty of cubicles and wash basins for a night's rest. Super Nice location below Temple 71.

Hostel & Tatami Bar Uchikobare er staðsett í Uchiko, nokkrum skrefum frá Machiya Resource Center og 200 metrum frá Omura Residence. The staff made me feel at home and the atmosphere was amazing.

This is a wonderful place to stay with the kindest family as the hosts. They were so sweet to allow me to come early and rest as the heat was terrible and I was hiking. She also cooked me the most delicious vegetarian meal and visited with me while I ate. I loved my stay!
