Guys at the bar are super nice. They are always ready to mix a cocktail, play pool or table games with you, and do a bit of talk. It's not a party hostel, but still there is a bar with coffee/cocktails, music (not very loud), pool, table games, console. Also there is a place where you can work with your laptop. The female dorm is clean, quite big, with a private bathroom and most comfortable stairs to the bed on the 2nd floor! Mattresses are good as well.

I stayed at a dormitory with only 5 beds. The mattress was really comfy! The owners and staff are very sweet! There is a full equipped kitchen even though I didn’t use it. It is right next to the pier so I just had to walk 8’ with my luggage to get there when I arrived. Close there are nice places and 2 amazing food markets ! I totally recommend it !!!!

You want European comfort, but at the same time experience that local backpacker vibe, but not in some hardcore way. This is it! It’s a perfectly located (5 min from pier on foot, literally across the street from Food Court), with top tier breakfast in their own restaurant, but what is most amazing is that they have local community daily events, like yoga, trip to waterfall, family dinner etc., and it’s all for free! I cannot think of better way to meet cool people and do stuff together, but remain on your own terms if you decide to. Ah, they did even give us free soda drinks and a CAKE as complimentary, I mean c’mon, guys, you’re amazing!

The Funky Monkey Hostel - 18 to 40 years old only has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Haad Rin. Located around 500 metres from Haad Rin Nai Beach, the hostel with free WiFi is also 15 km away from Phaeng Waterfall. Some rooms at the property have a patio with a sea view. The host Julian was the best. The waffles in the morning were so perfect and the vibe in the hostel was exactly what I hoped for. 10/10

Had an amazing time here! The lady and gentleman running the place are super friendly and made me feel really welcome from the start. The hostel is new and super clean – everything felt fresh and well taken care of. The ice bath and sauna were such a cool extra – didn’t expect that and really enjoyed it. Also loved the chilled terrace, great spot to relax and chat with other guests. Overall, just a really good vibe and you can tell everything’s done with care. Would definitely come back! Highly recommend!!!

Highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere!

All guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. One of the best hostels I have ever been to. Hostess was the nicest person, she really took care of everybody.

Amanda is the most careful and attentive host i have met in my trip in thailand ! She checked in with me before arriving , making sure my ferry was on time and that transportation from the port was accommodated. The house is absolutely lovely with a cozy common area where you can hang out with the other girls and plan your trip around the island. Amanda also helped us rent scooters and had them delivered to the house without any issues or stress! Purple house is the home away from home and I recommend it to all female solo travellers.
