The shopping district near the Rathaus Platz was interesting. There were a good number of interesting neighborhoods we traversed in a short bus tour. The city seemed to have a considerable variety of things to do or see, notwithstanding the heavy damage inflicted on it in the last world war.

We loved Hamburg , it's history, variety of neighbourhoods, the harbour area and historic buildings, as well as its modernity. Travel was easy, reliable and cheap. We particularly enjoyed the cafes, restaurants and bars in Altona and Ossende.

One of the most beautiful cities in the world. More bridges and water ways than Venice. Positioned around a central lake (Alster), adjacent to the harbour, and also greener than with more trees and green spaces than almost any other city.
