The property was amazingly clean, amazingly well kept. It is like walking back into the royal Era of Egypt. Alexandria was the seat of royalty and exquisite beauty this hotel takes us back to that Era . Cecil also has a unique location at RAML station area overlooking the Mediterranean sea. From our seafront room, we could see the citadel and minaret day and night, which is both healing and uplifting.
The personnel starting from Mrs. Nagham with her heartwarming smile and her redness to reserve dinner for us in the best fish restaurants in town was a great way to feel at home. Also, Mr Gaber who made sure that he walked us through our room received us met our needs in terms of extra seating. Seeing someone like him who has been working there for over 30 years is very grounding and enriching to this hotel. In the morning I missed an Egyptian delicacy that I had there two years ago called Um Aly. it was to my great pleasure and surprise that Mr. Abdul Sattar, the chef went out of his way to make a special plate for me in both days of my stay.
I always feel that. I walked into home with people that make me feel very welcomed every time I set foot there.

First nights I got an upgrade to a bigger room at a seperate building, lots of space and several beds. Then I extended and moved to the main building which was bit noisier as the school was in front, the excellent staff had though told me about it before I booked so cant complain, all good. They were always ready to help and felt comforting knowing that.

Crazy traffic and noise, dangerous to walk as a pedestrian since there are almost no traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Uber taxis are very cheap, but most of them drive like crazy and don't have functional seatbelts at the back seats. We found the best food and view at the Greek Club, and amazing croissants at the Croissant D'Alexis! Montazah park is beautiful and offers some fantastic views away from the traffic and the noise.

Visiting town centre, with its many suks, was one of the highlights. Major sights like the Library are well known. Less so the newly renovated Greek and Roman Art Museum. Our guide didn't intend to take us there but we insisted and were very pleased that we did as it is one of the most important museums in Egypt.

It’s a great city for the soul. Once you enter the city and see the sea, you will feel so refreshing.
Everything is great there, whatever historical places or nature or atmosphere in the downtown in the night.

There is no place to take a pleasant walk in the city or spend time except the museum and library. It is a very ruined, chaotic, noisy, dirty city with terrible traffic, so walking or hanging around is not only unpleasant but also tiring. However, its library and Greco-Roman Museum are incredibly impressive. Other museums are very ordinary. Seafood dishes are very fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Therefore, I think 2 days are enough to visit this city; You can spend a lot of time in the library and the museum, take a coffee break in a cafe (the number of stylish ones is almost nonexistent), take a short city walk and see what looks like it and gain insight about the city and have a seafood dinner in the evening and continue on your way.

was a lovely hotel, staff all friendly, my only complaint is that everywhere you went you could smell cigarette smoke, people smoked in the lobby, and the corridors the rooms, even though my room was clearly labeled no smoking everything stunk of cigarette smoke including fresh bedding and towels. this for a smoker would be not noticed, but if like me and my daughters (all nonsmokers) it was enough to put a black cloud over the whole holiday .

I was pleasantly surprised by Alexandria.
I was pleasantly surprised by Alexandria. It is a big, bustling city, and parts of it are very dirty. However, there are so many interesting things to see, and it is pretty easy to get around, I used Uber. It’s a very interesting city, and I recommend giving it at least a few days.
This is one of the best hotels in Alexandria, highly recommend! Before going to Alexandria my colleague from Egypt shared that this is a very good place to stay. Location is perfect, close to many city attractions, enjoyed much evening walkings along Corniche street to Qaitbay Fort. The hotel is very stylish, old style elevators are already worth to stay here, you could enjoy it much. The room was with a view to Midetterenean sea, it was amazing! And try their breakfast, there is a good variety of dishes, it's really tasty.
The hotel does not live up to five stars. His rating was 7.8, which does not match the rating. It is much less than that. The service doesn’t good. The beach is very dirty and the services are poor and sea dirty which doesn’t not possible to swim in it. The pool is crowded with Egyptians whose swimming in their clothes, it mean that no suitable to swim. The restaurant is very crowded and the service is not good. This is the second time that I have been disappointed in your evaluation of the level of hotels in Egypt.
Great location, really pleasant, and the room was very clean, comfortable with a wonderful view.
I can also say that the thing which makes this such a good place to stay are the staff.
All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. I am a solo traveler and have visited many countries and I can say that this place is on the level of hostels in Europe.
I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Alexandria. This was one of the nicest places I stayed in the four weeks in Egypt.
one of the best not only in Alexandria but in whole Egypt. Super clean, staff super freindly and attentive, we found all we need in the appartment, kitchen very well equiped with all necessary appliances and kitchen wear, washing machine and drying track available, hot water 24 hrs, AC, TV, Wifi. Beds very comfortable, Very clean towels, bed sheets pillows and blankets. Property is two steps to the beach, market, pharmacy, restaurants, public transportation and evrything.
Sharif was very helpful, he was waiting for me at the gate of the building when I arrived and he helped anytime I needed anything. He did his best for me to have a comfortable stay.
There is a big suppermarket and many cefes and restaurants nearby the apartment.
Those who have not been to Egypt before should keep in mind that they can not expect western standards in Egypt.
According to Egyptian standards, the apartment was nice and comfortable.
10 out of 10 is not enough, I would rate the hotel 15 out of 10 over exceeded my expectation. Room is clean and on very great condition. All what you need is there and working. Regarding the view, i can't describe it how beautiful it is, you must see it yourself, the balcony has it is own sitting area for two peoples with table and swing.
Internet is a bit slow, but I guess that is normal.
it's very good for Egyptian family or a business man in Egypt. breakfast is very good personally I'm a coffee drinker all the day . I'm hardly eating Breakfast or lunch .I do love the smile on each employee face specially when they tell you Good morning . the word good morning can melt any thing ( that is what I believe ) Keep up the good work and the SMILE .

I was little suspicious about staying in hostel in Egypt but this place changed this idea. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was great despite it served later than the schedule. Bed was comfortable and the common room is nice. Overall I enjoyed with my stay there and for sure will do it again.
pretty view of the sea, very clean that makes me feel I’m not in Egypt. there was a problem with water, and the host resolved it very well. friendly people, nice people, nice apartment. very clean! it’s as clean as a 4-star hotel! I loved here
I was transported back to the era of ancient Egyptian royalty at this elegant hotel. The elevator was particularly enchanting, and the sea view from my balcony took my breath away. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.
I liked the fact that it was clean. I think probably being around Raghad was the best thing. Our conversations together and just the fact that she made me feel at ease, was my absolute favorite part about my whole trip in Egypt
It’s a grand old building, all original, with spectacular views of the sea.
The staff- typical Egyptian kindness, hospitality and friendliness. Hamdi was very helpful.
Excellent value and great location.
I would like to express my gratitude to the hotel manager who spares no effort in monitoring the staff performance and satisfaction of the guests. You truly set an admirable example. Thank you.
The breakfast was so nice with variety of Egyptian authentic food. Staff kindly extend the time to make everyone finishes his/her breakfast. The staff are kind and smiling.
Location and the place itself. The lebanese restaurant serves nice food and the service is excellent. The Syrian chef and the Egyptian waiter are super nice.
