We had a great time at Gite de la Rochere. Marie and Jerome were kind and helpful hosts. The Gite is comfortable, modern and cozy. (best shower I ever have had) Wish we had used the fireplace as our week was a bit cold and rainy. This is a great base for chateau exploring. Bonus was a wonderful new supermarket (Super U) that had everything 2 K away. You could eat delicious foods and cheese and drink French wines forever for $50 day. Not many restaurants nearby but Amboise is great and only 20 minutes away. Be sure to visit some Vouvray wineries nearby and Domaine des Cormiers Roux 5 K away for wine and champagne tasting.
