Built about 150 years ago, our house has thick stone walls and is one of the few in the old village with both a garden and a magnificent view. We kept the old sign on the exterior wall and many of the original features of the house during the renovation. The result is an old house with most of the traditional features restored but also modern plumbing, electrical, and heating systems. St Saturnin-lès-Apt or St Sat is one of the few authentic villages left in the Luberon as many others attract so many tourists and vacation homes that they wind up being almost deserted in the winter. Not so in St Sat, whose local stores, cafés and even one or two of its restaurants are open year round. Being in the hustle and bustle of the village and able to walk to a bakery or general store every morning is a real plus.
St Sat is an ideal base from which to explore the Luberon and venture on day trips to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. If you like to bike, you can ride straight out of the gate. Some of the best hiking paths in France also run right past the village.
