The owners were so incredibly nice and helpful and PATIENT with us. The location was excellent, close to the heart of the town without the street noise or crowds. Room 1’s design was an excellent use the space and had all the touches that travelers need—enough outlets, lighting, etc. They provided homemade gluten free bread for me for breakfast. They really went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Highly recommend!

Located in Southern France, Avignon is the largest capital of the department of Vaucluse. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the charming city center is home to the palace of the popes, Rocher des Doms, and the bridge of Avignon.
The historic Palais des Papes is one of the most significant medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Right on the square of the same name, the Papal Palace is an important tourist attraction where you can see the pope’s private chambers and frescoes by Matteo Giovannetti.
Le Pont d’Avignon was built in the Middle Ages and, according to the legend, a young shepherd called Benezet was inspired by angels to build the bridge. The children’s song "Sur Le Pont D'Avignon" is now famous all over the world.

We stayed in a quiet but central part of Avignon.
The room was nice and the breakfast was fabulous. Jean Paul prepared everything possible to make our stay pleasant. The place is on a very narrow street, and I couldn't find a parking in the vicinity. So Jean Paul gave me his parking and found another one for his car.
He also recommended an excellent restaurant very close to the room.
We would stay again

Really loved our week in Avignon and could easily have stayed 2 weeks. The main tourist attraction is the Palais des Papes but there are other things going on if you can only find them - publicity in small French towns is often not great. We found a classical concert at the Conservatoire, and there's the Opera house, and several neglected art places: Grenier a Sel art space, Collection Lambert (modern art). Several smallish municipal museums, which have free admission. It's well-connected by rail to several other interesting towns. Overall pleasant, relaxed feel and very walkable.

I’m not happy about leaving a bad review, but I have to share honest feedback to be fair to future travelers. This place was not at all what we hoped for! The neighborhood is not clean and doesn’t seem safe. There’s very limited parking on the street, so I recommend getting there no later than 17:00, as you’ll have to park really far or pay extra 20 euros for their private garage. The first bedroom was musty and had a strange odor. The blankets on the beds seemed very old. The linen didn’t match and neither did the curtains. There were stains on the couch. The dish sponge was old and dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable, hard as if it was just a board. The door to the second bedroom had a big brown stain on it. The worst part was the shower, so much mold everywhere, it smelled bad, couldn’t use it! Stay away!
The hotel is in an old building located on the main street of Avignon (the one in line with the main entrance door of this old medieval city).
I really like the room with street view on the fourth floor. You can open the window, listening to the peaceful crowd during summer theater festival and looking at the magnificent very old trees in front of you !
The hotel was amazing, such a beautiful property in a tranquil garden setting with pool, which the owners should be very proud of. They are exceptional hosts, probably the best we have ever encountered, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return.
We liked everything about our short stay in this small hotel . It is situated in a quiet road in Avignon close to the train station and also close to some nice squares and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable the breakfast was also satisfying.
We had a fantastic day here. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Pool was an added bonus. Food was delicious. Plenty of parking. And the best pillows out of all the places we’ve booked in our France trip
Great little hotel right in the heart of Avignon. Loved the location, and the staff were super-helpful too. Breakfast was nice. We wished we'd arranged to stay longer. Great value for money
