There's no hassle with fold down beds as the comfortable full size double is a permanent fixture with a large storage drawer underneath to hide the suitcases! Once you are in, all facilities are on the same level and you are all set for a comfortable night's sleep. The kitchen/diner is complete with freshly painted wooden cupboards with a chunky Ash worktop and Belfast sink incorporating a full size Electric oven and ceramic hob with integrated fridge. The en-suite has a double sized cubicle with electric shower where traditional style sink and toilet and vintage fixtures and fittings complete the look! You are instantly immersed in the Borders countryside, with a rustic decking area where you can sit at the bistro table admiring the world go by, or venture down into the woodland garden with a chimnea and logs for a romantic evening with a picnic bench to relax and dine alfresco! Witness a clear un-spoilt star lit sky and watch the wildlife dance by, be astounded by the peace and quiet. All of the amenities are a 6 mile drive away in the historical mill town of Hawick. Perfectly situated for walking, cycling or just chilling Mountain biking can be found just 6 miles away in the lovely Craik Forest.

I have a history in property development and 'The Coppice' Borthwickbrae, was a self-build project which I completed in 2003. It was a happy family home where our children grew up in this beautiful peaceful haven. I now extend a welcome to new and interesting people from around the world where we sit and "put the world to right!" The house operates as a family run Guest House set in a large natural woodland garden. 'Borthwickbrae Shepherds Hut' was completed in 2017 and is my latest venture in property and tourism. During full foliage the hut is completely private from the main house set in a small rustic wooded area at the opposite corner of the garden. It smacks of charm and character and is a romantic retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It offers peace and tranquility without being deprived of all the 'mod cons' we have come to expect. At present we have deliberately omitted TV and Wifi to encourage total peace. However, if you require we can provide a TV/DVD player. We offer a selection of books to browse and feel free to bring games and a pack of cards! Wi Fi access is available at 'The Coppice' and we are happy to provide a 'Daily Fix' if requested

The Shepherds Hut is a new venture which is located in the grounds of 'The Coppice' Guest house which is in a quiet rural area of the Scottish Borders, some would say that it is a well kept secret! It is a haven of wildlife and ideal walking country to take in the breathtaking scenery. The night sky is totally unpolluted displaying a vista of stars on a clear night. We are located in a stunning area where you can walk, cycle from the doorstep with mountain biking in the nearby Craik Forest.
