Last minute booking having got caught in torrential & freezing Welsh summer weather, arrived very very wet, cold and tired. Was treated like royalty by the hotel manager, he really is a star.

The B&B was easy to find, the room was clean and functional, it’s self check in so didn’t engage with anyone, albeit the house staff were pleasant enough. The room was clean, with comfy beds and pillows, and a powerful hot shower, there’s a pleasant garden area outside to sit at. There’s a bike wash which is good value for bikers at the adjoining campsite. Parking was okay and felt secure. Good communication before and during stay as well, and easy to gain room access. Coffee and tea making facilities were abundant and reasonable quality, would prefer a mug though…

Nice design and more spacious than we expected. The cabin was well equipped and had a very tranquil outlook with a nice short walk through the woods to the estuary. We also liked meeting the Highland cow and the horses.

Perfect location for visiting the Mach Loop. All the staff were kind & professional at all times. Glyn greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived & gave us information when asked advice. Nice guy!! Couldn't fault anything & the food was lovely & great value for money. Will definitely be returning. Beautiful surroundings

Great location as it was an easy walk into town. Excellent room facilities with breakfast provided in room along with kettle, fridge and microwave. Amazing views of Cader Idris from our room. I did not want to leave!

Lovely location, we had the 1 bedroom apartment which had a very well equipped kitchen, although be aware the cooker is an Aga which did need a approximately an hour to warm up before we could use it.
Lovely comfortable bed and separate seating area with TV. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and well prepared.

Dolgellau is a rather deprived town which doesn't lend itself to tourism. Having said that it's a good base for exploring the wonderful surrounding countryside. The eateries in the town were ok but nothing special. The main store was a Co-op which was well stocked.DavidUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

There are plenty of bistros and pubs in the town. We ate in the Torrent Walk hotel and the food was beautiful and plentiful. Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs...
Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs etc easily accessible. Main car park by the river is on the edge of town but a minutes walk away from the centre. There could be more choice of restaurants and cafes but we found a hotel (The Ship) that served good food.

Beautiful, incredibly preserved small market town. The weather didn't allow us to explore close surroundingds as we wished. The town itself has got plenty of pubs, cafes, gift shops, art shops. The parking was not good steep narrow road I think once inside the property there was 44 steps or stairs some very steep and narrow, wouldn’t recommend to guests with any type of mobility issues. Lounge furniture needs replacing very old and uncomfortable lounge smelt musty. One of the bedrooms very damp with mushroom type mould Growing on wall and carpet. Bathrooms very nice modern plenty of them. Everything you needed supplied in the kitchen. Beds very comfortable lovely bedding. Garden unkempt and garden furniture rusty.peacockUnited Kingdom

The room was located on the top floor and we liked that they provided us with fans - much needed even after the heatwave! Bathroom was spacious and everything was clean. We also liked breakfast where you can order cooked food. We checked in quite late in the evening so the hotel car park was full already. It has good road access to local mountains as well as the town of Barmouth and the seashore. The campsite was very quiet and well maintained, with excellent facilities such as showers and toilets. There was also a communal area allowing barbecue and a separate campfire and a kitchen with refrigerator inside.
