Nice staff great location only downside was my room. They are old rooms and whilst the bathroom was a good size the water pressure in the shower was very bad and barely useable. At £115 a night that’s not good enough.

No breakfast available, when we arrived approximately 12.45pm (according to website lunch available Mon-Fri from 12pm) we were met with a closed up place apart from 1 door which I had to get the attention of a member of the kitchen staff, to be told they weren't open until 5pm as it was deep cleaning. I then said room was booked for check-in at 3pm, to be told would be ok. I then had to drive again to find somewhere to go for lunch as nothing available round the Bateman Arms. On our return at 3pm was told by a lady that not open until 5pm, to which I replied room booked, she then said well I can check you in. Not the friendliest person and seemed put out by our arrival! My friend had booked a table for 6 @6pm and checked was available. Yes it was and staff who were on were very friendly and meal was nice. Going back to room was ok but all night there was a noise in the roof! Another guest departed at 6am and unfortunately was a tad noisy. When we checked out at 9am there was no facility to leave key or talk to someone, I had to leave it with a cleaner who I found after searching for an open door. Very disappointed with the place and lack of customer service.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious and you could eat it in the Lodge enjoying the views. Isabelle was super attentive and spent time with us giving us fabulous recommendations for walks, dinner etc. When we arrived Isabelle brought us tea and coffee to the lodge and was on hand to answer any questions we had and was very easy to contact. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The unit was very cosy and clean, and it felt like a home away from home. We really liked the quiet and peaceful countryside surroundings, and Sue is a very nice and friendly host.

A small town in beautiful countryside with plenty to do locally even if you do not walk a great deal. Good places to eat in the town itself and interesting places to visit locally like the Sidney Nolan Trust and Spaceguard centre. There are many churches inn Herefordshire and Powys that are open and interesting to visit. We enjoyed a church crawl! Hereford Town is also within reach.

Lovely small town with lots of small shops, great character and friendly locals. The Radnorshire Arms provided great family accommodation, a tasty filling meal, and a great beer garden/play area. Wonderfully dog friendly garden too. A lovely part of the world :)

Good range of shops and places to eat, etc. for small town. Good historic buildings including The Judge's Lodgings, which are open to the public and worth a visit. Good music classical festival each year in late August. Lots of places and good walks in the surrounding area. Great to be able to quickly get away from traffic noise, which seems to be everywhere nowadays.

As I was short of time, I wasn't able to explore the town, although as I wanted some chocolates or flowers to take to the family I was having dinner with, I did go into a couple of shops where the staff were helpful and friendly. The little gift and flower shop was lovely, as was the lady serving, it had a variety of beautiful gifts and a little cafe which I would certainly visit whenever I return to Presteigne and hopefully have more time.

Great shops for self-catering - butcher, a greengrocers (also sells fish for part of the week), 2 general food stores and a well-stocked deli, also a bakers.
It has a number of decent pubs for such a small place and a lovely Italian restaurant, plus takeaways. There are also a number of cafes and gift shops. The locals were all very friendly.
There is an information centre in town and a small museum/art gallery.
It is in the middle of very pretty countryside - rolling hills, trees and sheep! Great for access to Wales and to Shropshire and Herefordshire.

This is a good base to explore the beautiful countryside in this area.
It`s a small town with some interesting traditional shops. The Judge`s Lodgings museum is excellent and well worth a visit, as is the Warden nature site.
We were made very welcome by the friendly staff. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well appointed. Car parking was ample, and free for the guests. There was a large play area for children. The breakfast was sumptuous, with a choice of breads, juices, fresh fruit, tea / coffee. The hotel has a decently stocked bar where one could also enjoy a meal, along with drinks. All in all, it was a refreshing stay, although we just stayed for 1 night as we were visiting the Hay Festival nearby. A longer stay is recommended.
A lovely well equipped character cottage in a very quiet and secluded location with fabulous views from the garden. A central location to so many historic towns in both England and Wales. The local town of Presteigne is a 2 minute drive which had lots of eating possibilities, especially for lunch. We arrived late so had to use the key safe but Sue dropped by the next day to make sure that we had everything that we needed.
Our second stay at the Radnorshire, so we already knew what to expect and were looking forward to more of that, a work crisis meant I needed help from the hotel staff which they were more than willing to assist with so many thanks to them for getting me out of a bit of a mess.
The food and drink is also great value too
Lovely old character hotel but really clean and comfortable. Rooms are perfect. I've known this building most of my life having been brought up in Presteigne and coming back to see family. Its the best it's been and a credit to the new owners. Great to see it busy. Food was great. We will be back.
Location was excellent for us. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room had a well stocked kitchenette which we found very useful. The chef produced an evening meal for us very quickly one night when we had tickets to an early concert, which we appreciated. We loved the history of the hotel.
Lovely little terraced cottage in the centre of Presteigne close to cafes and pubs, including the excellent Radnorshire Arms Hotel. It is an older house with a downstairs bathroom, but that is well worth it to have two cozy bedrooms upstairs. Really nice stay - thank you.
Newly refurbished historic hotel. Excellent location in small town on Welsh border. Links to the local historic hill climb event with small display of pictures.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Excellent value.
Highly recommended!
Great location; within walking distance to Presteigne shops and pubs. Accommodation was in a quiet area. We loved the local walks and general area. We thought the Owl and Small Breeds Farm was good value as there was so much to see.
See below re breakfast in section of what I didn’t like. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Hotel was in good location close to other eateries and shops and yet was nice and quiet.
