Helford Cottage is located in the beautiful village of Gweek, at the head of the Helford River, which is arguably the most scenic and unspoilt area in the whole of Cornwall. You will be ideally situated for exploring the Lizard peninsular with its historic fishing villages and famous smuggling coves! The Helford River itself is the perfect place for those who enjoy walking, kayaking, sailing, wild swimming and exploring, and it also has 2 of the best pubs in the country (!) The Ferryboat Inn and the Shipwrights Arms in Helford itself. Slightly further afield is the bustling town of Falmouth (approx 7 miles) which has on multiple occasions been voted the best place to live in the UK - again plenty of sailing and water based activities available here, as well as some great quaint shops and restaurants. Heading West from Gweek you will find some world famous attractions such as St Michaels Mount and the fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole or if you are a keen surfer then Poldhu (approx 4 miles) can offer some great beach break waves.
