Hillhouse Farm Escapes is an agritourism business in the south of Scotland. The Sutherland family have been running Hillhouse Farm for 80 years (across 3 generations) and they have been involved in hospitality for 25 years. Hillhouse Farm Escapes is a collection of 5 holiday accommodation properties, all self-catering holiday cottages. The cottages are set within Hillhouse Farm, a stunning upland sheep farm in the north Scottish Borders. It's a rural idyll just 30-40 minutes south of Edinburgh.

Highfield is a beautiful stone-built cottage at Hillhouse Farm Escapes on the edge of the Lammermuir Hills in the Scottish Borders and under an hour from Edinburgh. This old shepherd's house is modern and cosy, has a superb kitchen with a range cooker, a huge lounge & a stunning rural location. Come for walks from the door across a 1500-acre farm and the moors beyond, incredible views, the market towns of the Scottish Borders as well as easy access to Scotland's capital city. The master bedroom is very spacious and it has a new en-suite shower room. The twin bedroom makes use of the family bathroom (which has a bath with shower). A fantastic tennis court is available for your use and guests are free to roam the grounds and the surrounding countryside.

Highfield is at Hillhouse Farm Escapes in the Scottish Borders. It's also just 30 minutes south of Edinburgh so it's perfect for accessing both Scotland's capital and incredible Scottish landscapes. The postcode is TD2 6RD. Guests will find that the easiest access is via Carfraemill (TD2 6RA) - from there, it's just a 1 mile drive along a quiet country lane . Take the road immediately behind the hotel, follow its tree-lined route over a humpback bridge, then take the left fork up the hill. You'll drive/walk through a beech tree tunnel, and when you reach the top you've arrived at Hillhouse Farm. Drive/walk past the farmhouse, and follow the road around to the left. Take a short track on the right hand side, up to the stone cottage which is Highfield.
