A beautiful setting in a wonderfully renovated old farm house. We rented the 3 bedroom farmhouse. The house had everything that we needed for a very enjoyable 3 night stay while visiting family nearby. It had a fully stocked kitchen with quite new looking utensils, cookware and appliances. Everything worked perfectly and the upstairs lounge with stone fireplace was amazing, with incredible views across the valley. Managers Amy and Gavin were super to communicate with and very responsive to any questions we had. They really made us feel at home.

The 16th century Longhouse, which has now been split into the Farmhouse, Cottage and Hayloft has been in the Wenner family for over 50 years, gradually evolving into what it is today. The Lakehouse, a truly unique labour of love, really reflects the Laythams ethos of living sustainably and within nature. A perfect solace for those who need wide open spaces, quiet starry evenings and plenty of good walks! We cannot wait to meet you, and share all the things that make Laythams so special to us!

The Farmhouse and Cottage offer the perfect retreat within the charm of a 16th century Pennine longhouse. They have interconnecting doors, so each property can be used independently or together for larger groups. Both properties are pet friendly. The Farmhouse and Cottage benefit from gorgeous panoramic views, which you can enjoy from one of the several seating areas in the spacious yard, as well as preparing delicious holiday barbecues. Laythams Farmhouse and Cottage is ideally situated if you’re looking to escape from the stresses of everyday life and retreat into the countryside. Even on incredibly busy days, we’re lucky enough to only have about a dozen vehicles passing the gates of the farm. Despite this, there are plenty of amenities within a short walking distance and an abundance of nearby activities to try during your holiday. For a romantic break away look no further than our gorgeous Hayloft. You’ll be charmed immediately by the Hayloft’s splendid views of the beautiful Forest of Bowland, wood burner and luxurious ensuite bathroom.
