Company info

A collection of converted cabins and cottages sleeping from 2-7 guests, near Banchory, Scotland, 40 minutes from Aberdeen, in the North East of Scotland. Easily accessible by road, rail and air. Hire a car, or arrange a taxi to be collect you from Stonehaven or Aberdeen stations, or from Aberdeen airport. All accommodation is equipped with an outdoor hot tub and barbecue. Towels and linen are provided, along with firewood, books and games.

Sleeps 4 No 2 Glen Dye Steadings is part of our award-winning renovation that created five houses and an exceptional office in 2012, perhaps the most striking feature of this perfectly-formed house is the enormous sitting/dining room with its giant south-facing window where tractors once entered the building. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with two small doubles (that are so much nicer than normal single beds). There is a good, long kitchen, a utility room with washer/drier etc. and a downstairs bathroom (as well as a second separate loo). At the back of the house is a lovely little private yard, on two levels, which includes a wood-fired hot tub, a Big Green Egg, a Gozney pizza oven and two tables.

Neighborhood info

Glen Dye is a private estate of around 15,000 acres and our cabins and cottages sit slap bang at its centre, surrounded by wilderness forest and moorland on the banks of the River Dye. The location is fabled; watched over by the massive granite tor of Clachnaben and at the northern end of the Cairn o Mount mountain pass. This is where the Howe of the Mearns finally gives in to the Highland boundary fault; wild, beautiful and very, very quiet.
