I only use Bridgend as a stopover as I could not find reasonably priced room in Cardiff that was in a safe area for a woman travelling alone. There was a big football match and concert on in Cardiff that Tuesday night and that is why I booked further afield as there was very little choice in my price range available.

Old Manor House with an old-fashioned touch, a bit out of times but comfortable, clean and with refurbished bath rooms.
We we arrived there was a school graduation party we had not been made aware of. Fortunately it finished at 10 pm, so did not bother us in the end.
Very good Indian restaurant. Very good breakfast.

I can only comment on Days Inn (where we stayed) as we were visiting family and didn't spend any time in Bridgend. The location was quiet, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was very good quality and we had a good night's sleep. The only downside was that there was nowhere nearby to have breakfast.
Pool truly is lovely, also the sauna and steam room too, the rooms are super clean and beds are very comfortable, great staff, helpful and friendly, the area is in easy reach of town even if you don't drive regular bus not far into Bridgend and Cardiff. Breakfast was tasty on the first day it was served to us which was tiny, however on the second day you served yourself which was much better. Overall good experience and would come back and would recommend but be aware of what I've written below.
Easy parking and quiet location.
Evening meal - the food was absolutely stunning, one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Talented chef / kitchen staff for sure. Such a refreshing change to my weekly hotel stays.
Nice restaurant area and cosy little pub part too
Staff nice, young man in the afternoon was particularly professional and friendly.
pillows and mattress comfortable
Days Inn has a 'certain' reputation for being cheap and maybe not so cheerful. I found the hotel and my room more than passable. A couple of points, a stain on the carpet and a water mark on the curtains. No idea why that was the case, perhaps the window leaks, or perhaps it's been badly washed/dried, but as it was dry when I stayed I couldn't hazard a guess.
Very Handy Guest house close to the town of Bridgend with excellent parking, Clean and spacious rooms with Good WIFI. Lovely Host who makes a very generous Breakfast Close enough to the town amenities for an evening meal and far enough for peace and quiet lovely view of the local stream from my room.
we stayed at the heronston hotel in the part that had already been renovated, The bed was exceptionally comfortable & we can’t wait to re visit to see once the whole hotel has been renovated. The staff were all extremely friendly, breakfast and dinner was an amazing standard.
Howard is an outstanding host, always charming, friendly, with nothing too much trouble. The room was great; large, huge bed, lovely bathroom. Great breakfast and an excellent location for the area. Couldn't have been better and we could have happily stayed much longer.
The guest house was lovely for our short stay. There were nice touches in the spacious room like a fridge & microwave, tea & coffee making facilities which was great. Tony was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying again when we are back in Wales.
Great place to stay very clean and well decorated with attention to detail, kitchen was well equipped with a lovely welcome hamper, great location train station and super market and town center close by.good to see a variety of games to play.
Basic bxb but the owner was so lovely and the breakfast was great, perfect place for Cardiff as Bridgend Station is around 10 minutes walk from the tremains, £6:50 return to Cardiff I would definitely stay here again 😀
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Lovely hotel, lovely building, rooms decorated lovely. Great communal areas, room was beautiful clean, restaurant and breakfast were both stunning. Will definitely return.
The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
