Quinag is a luxurious contemporary holiday house located in Achiltibuie on the Coigach peninsula in the North-West Highlands Geopark, with a mountain backdrop of Connmheall and Ben Mor Coigach, and with South West facing views over the Summer Isles, Loch Broom and the mountains of Wester Ross beyond. The house has one of the best locations in the area and is ideally situated to enjoy all the attractions that draw visitors to the Coigach peninsula and from here you can take part in all the activities the area has to offer. Quinag is finished and furnished to a very high standard, with a double height ceiling over the living room and a gallery area over the dining area, all of which have sea views over to the Summer Isles. The house furnished in a contemporary style, with wood flooring and rugs. The open plan living and dining area with large wood burning stove is the heart of the house which is well insulated and is a cosy retreat from the occasional wild Wester Ross weather! The spacious living area has three sofas around the wood burning stove. There is Wi-Fi, smart TV, a DVD player and bluetooth speaker. The dining area seats 8. The gallery above the dining area also has a TV, DVD player and comfortable sofabed. The modern kitchen off the livingroom is well equipped, with electric oven and induction hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. There is also a microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine. Original artwork decorates the walls, and local hillwalking guides and other books covering subjects of local interest are provided. Quinag can accommodate 8 people. There are three double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. (There is also the possibility to accommodate up to 2 further people in the gallery area by agreement). The layout of the house makes it ideal for a large group.

I live in Edinburgh, but like to escape to Achiltibuie as often as I can. The peace and tranquillity, friendly community and dramatic scenery never fail to deliver!

Coigach and neighbouring Assynt are renowned for their primeval landscape, improbable mountains, rugged coastline and enticing islands. The house looks directly out across the sea to The Summer Isles which are explorable by local boat trips in the summer months. Two sandy beaches with stunning views at Achnahaird and Achduart are suitable for swimming and are within a few minutes drive of the house. The landscape surrounding the house is one of lochs and hills, gorse and heather. Wild deer roam the hillsides, bird life abounds and porpoises are frequent visitors in the bay. It is a wonderful area for nature lovers, and the colours and light in this corner of the world also make it a favoured place with artists, with several making their home here. The area has a long history of traditional music and piping and there are often live music sessions in the local hall. The famed Summer Isles Hotel with fine dining and friendly bar is a ten minute walk from the house. A few minutes up the road in Altandhu, Am Fuaran bar serves great local seafood and steaks.
