On the outskirts of Winton in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside is our 2 bedroom/4 person (including children) holiday cottage. This cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Be in beautiful and peaceful surroundings, breath in our fresh air and come home every day to your own modern (yet country-feeling) independent cottage. Hot tub, seating area, and private entrance all included.
Hi, Im Sarah who hosts the cottage here at Rookby Scarth. Me and my partner Nick moved here 3 years ago with the dream to make a lovely little cottage. This is my passion and i enjoy putting in the finishing touches to try and make everyting perfect for the guests. I enjoy running and walking and pottering around in my greenhouse. I look forward to meeting you We live next door to the cottage so if you need help with anything we will be more than happy to help. I always try to meet guests on arrival to say hello.
There is only our house next door to the cottage. The next nearest house is 1 mile away. Winton is also 1 mile away which has a pub serving excellent food. If you like nature, we often see Deer on the driveway and we have red squirrels. There are also lots of owls around at night time. The nearest town is Kirkby Stephen which is 3 miles away. There are lots of lovely little shops, cafes, pubs and a 24hr garage spar. Also there is a lovely little area to sit down next to the river and feed the ducks down at Franks Bridge. Parking is free and usually plenty of spaces. Bigger towns such as Kendal or Penrith are both around 26 miles away .
