From the beautiful cooked breakfast to the scones and clotted cream every afternoon it just felt like home.
Lots of walks from the beautiful Grasmere village.
Jump on the bus if you wish to many places.
Good restaurants nearby to walk to and tea rooms at the door.
Just so relaxing this place.
Lots of parking.
Great outdoor and indoor space to relax with complimentary beverages.

Grasmere is a small place with independent shops.
Grasmere is a small place with independent shops. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from Grasmere village with its pubs and souvenir shops. Quite a few coaches come there with people taking leisurely strolls through the village and around the lake.

Breathtakingly beautiful village in the heart of the Lake District. Lots of lovely places to eat and some cosy inns. Visited Dove Cottage and Allen’s Bank, two properties linked to William Wordsworth, both were excellent. There is a super independent book shop in the village ‘Sam Read Books’ and also Sarah Nelson’s wonderful gingerbread shop.

Grasmere is one of my favourite locations in the Lake...
Grasmere is one of my favourite locations in the Lake District. There are some superb Wainwright walks from the centre of the town and plenty of shops and cafes for a rainy day.
We enjoyed Faeryland, just outside the centre, where you can feed the swans and cygnets, hire a boat and get refreshments from friendly staff.
A visit to Grasmere Gingerbread Shop is a must, but go early to avoid the queues.
From Grasmere, it's a short drive to the Langdale Valley, which is truly stunning.

The hostel is in an excellent secluded position, a few minutes walk from GRASMERE village. The countryside around is beautiful.
In summer Grasmere itself as a ‘honeypot’ destination with its location and Wordsworth connections is quite pricey and fairly busy with cars and tourists during the daytime.
The food in Lewis’s Bistro was excellent, booking required.
Lancrigg looked a delightful place for a coffee if you wanted a very short walk from the village into the valley.

Lovely village to visit, especially for fans of William Wordsworth.
Be careful as there are not many pavements, so you end up walking on the road in the main area.
There are a few cafes open in the day. In the evening we only found one restaurant, that was shut that day, so it was the restaurants in the pubs or hotels.
We’d visit again, but not stay overnight.

Village really nice few shops, Famous Gingerbread shop always queues there. Wordsworth Cottage right opposite Daffodil hotel
The Inn pub did nice food, parking always busy but can park at Daffodil hotel cheap £5 i think and walk into village,
Bus stop right outside by wall into Ambleside and other villages every 20 minutes for £3 each way.
Rydal Cave worth a visit , park at Ambleside cricket club £3 and walk left towards the sign which says stepping stones then walk up threw packed carpark up hill . Takes about an hour each way. No places to get drinks of food so take snacks with you.

A comfortable hotel with a very fine restaurant only 20 minutes walk from the centre of Grasmere. The bus to Keswick will also drop you at the door. It is a great location for walking the hills east of Grasmere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, typical Lake District fare but some of the best I’ve tasted including lamb shank, steak and kidney pudding and sticky toffee pudding. The atmosphere was good with real fires and exposed beams - an old inn but feeling very comfortable

Very friendly and helpful staff, particularly the host who met us when we arrived and seemed to be involved with almost every aspect of the hotel! The hotel gave us a free room upgrade and the room and facilities were excellent. Free car parking. Its a pity the bar couldn't stay open a little longer at night though this seemed to be commonplace in Grasmere.

Perfect location for our visit to Ambleside and Grasmere and easy access to plenty of lovely walks. The hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly. The bar was quite small, but cool, and the Spa was also small, but cool! Breakfast was included with our stay and was served quickly and was tasty. We had a lovely stay, thank you!

We hadn't stayed since the refurb and the hotel looks great. It has been very tastefully decorated and the staff are welcoming. The hotel is in a perfect spot, it sits just outside of Grasmere village away from the crowds but is only a short walk from the hotel.
