The hotel is right in town, so it was easy to walk around and check out the shops. We also left for a hike right from the door! We parked our car when we got there and didn't have to move it again until we checked out. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. I recommend staying here.

Friendly and helpful staff. Getting a parking space was no problem. The hostel had a pleasant appearance/atmosphere, particularly the dining room area. In our twin room (which had a toilet and sink which was great, and a number of showers close to our room) the wi-fi was fine - we had no problems watching a drama on my ipad.
Grasmere is a perfect base for seeing the lake district. Quiet and serene...Great little eateries...we loved Baldry's this time. The bus service is excellent for all the surrounding beauty spots....give your car a rest.😴
Grasmere is simply beautiful and full of history. There are some fantastic walks straight from the village and there’s buses running to all other nearby towns, villages and attractions. The weather was absolutely terrible and we even encountered flooding but neither changed how much we enjoyed our trip.
Breathtaking, tranquil and relaxing! We ate in Tweedies restaurant. I have been vegetarian most of my life and their Mushroom and dumpling dish was amazing. We travelled by bus to Ambleside the next evening, always worth a trip to Zefferellis. The food, service and ambiance is a very special experience. Easedale Tarn, starts from centre of Grasmere, is well worth a visit after the mist has cleared. Spectacular views, you won't want to come back down. Moderate walk in my opinion. Enjoy!!
Booked a 1 night midweek say and we arrived a little earlier than the allotted check in time. We managed to get parked and reception staff notified us when room was ready so we got in 2 hrs early. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Room was very clean with a lovely view of the nearby hills and great value for money. Food was amazing we ate an evening meal and breakfast. Overall would recommend a stay here especially if you’re into walking etc. but we just wanted a night to relax and that certainly did the job.
The room I booked was the De Quincy suite,my only dislike was that it had two adjoining doors to other rooms which I dislike. This should have been pointed out at the booking stage.,as their was a family with a number of children in one of the adjoining room who decided to play a recorder at 7.00am,not appropriate for a hotel of 4 stars.I would also like to point out this cost me £1023 pounds for three nights. Its a shame because this is the only negative thing I can say,but you should know so other people who book this room are aware.
We know the area well and had stayed at this Hotel Years ago. It has since been refurbished to an excellent standard. The room was lovely with beautiful views from each of the windows. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The seperate bar has a friendly atmosphere with good food. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We love Grasmere, it is a beautiful place and the Hotel is in a central location convenient for eveything in the village and for setting off on walks or hikes but also for just ambling around.
The hotel location was excellent, the room (no. 27, on top floor) was very comfortable, clean and had pleasant views. The staff were all exceptional and made a point of greeting us, whenever we passed. The food, its presentation and service were superb. The Hotels consideration and adoption of measures to keep us all Covid- safe, were exceptional and we felt very well protected. The free and ample parking in an otherwise congested location was highly appreciated. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay there again. Peter and Colleen.
Lovely hotel in Grasmere with large comfortable rooms some overlooking the fast flowing river which runs just outside the ground floor bedroom windows. Large comfy beds and armchairs and fresh clean newly refurbished bathrooms. Good water pressure for the large overhead shower. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Tea, coffee, scones etc available as help yourself which was a nice touch. We plan to stay again soon.
This hotel good all rounder with the pub/lounge/restaurant and pool area, and good value if you can get a midweek deal. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Grasmere and the lounge area is lovely. it has a nice bar and restaurant too. - fantastic pizzas! The pool area is lovely with a nice holiday vibe. all in all it’s a great place to stay with a lovely selection of rooms and suites.

Homey, cosy room. Location was perfect, within walking distance of everything in Grasmere village. The lovely gentleman (that I presume owns the hotel) was very welcoming both at check in and at breakfast time.
Staff excellent particularly the person (female) who looked after us in the morning and 1 night in the bar. She loved Fred (our dog). Very dog friendly hotel and perfect position in Grasmere.
