There is a diverse choice of places to visit in Dundee and many within easy walking distance. Our fist time at the V & A and the Kimono exhibition was wonderful. The people we met were so friendly and helpful when we were looking at our map of the centre. We ate in a wonderful Turkish Restaurant called Milas just off Nethergate. We definitely needed more than a weekend to do justice to Dundee.

not technically Dundee, we actually stayed in Broughty Ferry, a neighbouring town.
The town is easily reached from Dundee, whether coming any direction. The town lay-out is quite straight forward, most of the main streets run parallel with the river Tay. Easy to keep, or retain your bearings. The main shops are all within 5 to 10 minutes of each other, so never far to walk to get shopping, plenty of variety, cafe's, restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores etc, the vast majority being smallish independent shops, only the odd one or two high street names.
Prices can be a bit higher than within Dundee, possibly due to less competition, and the fact it is a touristy town.
Dundee is about 10 minutes drive, at most, so if staying long-term, eg 1 or 2 weeks, and self catering, then big supermarkets are easily reached.
There;s enough about Broughty Ferry top keep most folk occupied and amused for a short term break, with plenty of variety for all ages.
overall, a nice place to visit, and once you've been, you'll wonder why you hadn't been before.

I really like Dundee but have only started visiting fairly recently. Prior to that it was always somewhere we stopped for a quick snack before heading on to Glasgow or Edinburgh.
For my 11 year old, she loves the shopping as we do let her loose by herself (which is not something I would allow in Glasgow or Edinburgh, too big) and I like the culture. The Discovery and the V&A are right next to each and good for a visit. The HMS Unicorn is also worth a visit and we have enjoyed the Science Centre and Camperdown Park previously.
There are some lovely pubs and restaurants, I have never met any rude staff, they are always so lovely and friendly.
Highly recommend a wee visit.

Plenty of things to do and see. We were there for a gig at The Caird Hall love the intimate atmosphere of the venue. Plenty of shops pubs and eating places. Easy to get to although new LEZ might be a bit of a nuisance for city centre things

Well I am going to say it is great going to Dundee as I am an expat.
Not too impressed with the V&A, Lovely building but disappointing inside. McManus is better. Up the Law Hill is well worth the visit even in the cold and wind etc. and Broughty Ferry is great for shopping and pubs etc.
I found the staff extremely helpful, I showed up before my room was ready but the lady on reception kindly said she could keep my suitcase until I came back to check in later to save me lugging it around.
Room was bigger than I expected it to be, facilities were extremely comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep before I headed home to Glasgow the following day.
Shower was easy to work and get to the correct temp for my liking.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for others too!
The location is good, it's on the main street in the city centre, but that didn't mean it was noisey at all.
The facilities are alright, maybe it could be better with more but it's ok.
The rooms were fine, they're basic, but you pay a cheap price so that's alright.
Staff were good, and it's a curious place to go to, a weird old building (or two or three) so there's more character than some modern identikit hotel.
The room was exceptional. Such lovely attention to detail, you had us learning more about Dundee and wanting to explore! From the sheepdog quotes, Dundee woven curtains, marmalade tiles and a Beano!
The room was also quiet, really big, super comfy bed and lovely bathroom products.
I will be looking out for more Hotel Indigo branches in the future! <3
Location was perfect for our needs. Price was fantastic for central Dundee. Parking free another bonus for a city centre hotel. Breakfast was amazing both days. Lots of choice, serving staff were attentive and fast. Comfortable bed and we had free Wi-Fi which covered our basic internet use. Comfortable bed. Staff were fantastic throughout the hotel.
Aesthetically the hotel is great & has everything you could want in the room itself - bed was comfy, kitchenette well stocked, en suite great with steam free mirror section. There is also (limited) parking and it's location is good for going into the centre of Dundee and slessor gardens. It's also (mostly) dog friendly which is a bonus.
The hotel is in a very good location - very close to Dundee City Centre and there are a lot of amenities and places to eat surrounding it.
The buffet breakfast was amazing!! There was so much variety, especially for me as I am lactose intolerant.
Very central, and it was good to stay in hotel that knew when used to often past through Dundee was in ruins. Amazing grand stairs and coffee bags in room (real coffee for a change!). Amazing light up wardrobe and hidden away kettle was genesis
I think Sleeperz is the best hotel in Dundee for a reasonable budget. I’ve stayed here previously and on this occasion it was great once again. My room was very clean, the WiFi was working properly and the breakfast was very good as well.
Parking was very accessible and very cheap. Hotel near lots of restaurants. Dundee is a great location to go to lots of different areas, we went to glamis castle for the day. Foyer and restaurant felt light and open, food atmosphere.
Lovely small hotel with loads of character and a really friendly welcome. A short walk from the city centre but much more peaceful with a cracking view across the Tay. The Dundee cake in the room was a great touch!
Good value for money.. room was a good size.. decent bed and bathroom. Couldn’t fault it for the price it was and what you get.. compared to other hotels I stayed in.. in Dundee to was just as good as the 3 stars
I liked that the hotel had tried to make check in simpler at the bar. I'd just booked that day so had to draw a staff member to reception but I appreciate the intent.
