Provided a bit more than a standard hotel room - reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to leave luggage temporarily next day. Great views from the room. The breakfast was excellent - varied options and fresh. Central location works well for enjoying night life and restaurants in the city center.

I booked this as I was attending a local event with a friend and just needed good basic accommodation for the night at a good price. For what I paid I was expecting just that, but the hotel was way above that. Good rooms, clean, basic but with modern ensuite shower (excellent), flat screen TV and wi-fi. The staff were very friendly and there was a generous continental breakfast. A full cooked breakfast was available, but we didn't book that. The location for us was excellent and despite being on the main road, there was no noise disturbance. There was a good bar, but we didn't try the restaurant as we ate at the event we were attending. The hotel is obviously very popular with nice sitting out areas which were very busy as the weather was excellent when we were there. There is also a good sized car park. Well done to all the staff for making this a popular and good value hotel. Definitely recommended if you don't need anything fancy and good value. It's better than that.

Historic Pioneer with Noble Connections
Bordering the Peak District, pioneering Derby was the site of the first factory during the Industrial Revolution. The city was a silk producer and a former mill forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Derwent Valley Mills, lining the Derwent River between Derby and Matlock.
Also by the river is Darley Park which hosts an annual chamber orchestra concert. The city centre arboretum was England’s first public park, and Markeaton Park in the north-west has a light railway. Nearby is the university campus and 18th-century Kedleston Hall, a Palladian-style mansion involved in filming of ‘The Duchess’.
Another royal connection is Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed at Exeter House. A replica of his room is in Derby Museum and Art Gallery, and there is a statue of him in Cathedral Square. Opposite is the oldest pub, the Dolphin Inn, but the best nightlife is around Friar Gate.
The nearby Cathedral Quarter is full of eateries and shops, and the Westfield Centre houses big name brands. The Grade II-listed Market Hall offers a range of stalls above underground tunnels which are supposedly haunted by one of Derby’s many ghosts.
Derby County FC play at Pride Park, near the train station and several hotels with parking. Booking.com also offers cheap apartments and guest houses near East Midlands Airport.

The art gallery was interesting, especially the surrealist paintings. I highly recommend the Kedleston Hall! The staffs there were really helpful and informative, and the elegant interior design is especial. The Pickford’s House is interesting too, because there’re many grand upper-class mansions open to tourists but not homey middle-class houses like this. Everyone I met in this town was friendly, like we’d been friends for years.

We loved all the little shops and cafes near the Cathedral up Saddlers street? Also noticed live music and beautiful places to go at night but we didn’t go into these this time.

The visit to the football club was great I attended an event in the club at night and the kids were overwhelmed. The shopping centre was amazing and so close to my hotel which was walking distance, the coach station has plenty of facilities food outlets plenty and general goods choices
We liked everything about this hotel, which we chose because of its proximity to friends we were visiting. It is also very convenient for Ashbourne and the Derbyshire Dales. Extremely comfortable room, good food, wonderful staff (friendly and efficient) and "dog friendly". A table was reserved for us in the bar so that we could eat with our dog. We felt that it was excellent value for money and when we need to stay in this area again we won't hesitate to return here - provided they have a room free!
Well located for the town centre and easy to access by car. Plenty of car parking spaces behind the hotel. I would consider staying here again if travelling to Derby by car in the future. Comfortable bed. Full sized bath and decent shower. The staff were helpful when I told them the room safe wasn't working and I couldn't close the small window. They sent the maintenance man to the room within 5 minutes. Good lighting in the room so it was easy to work at the desk.
Location is excellent into Derby centre but also for Donington which is why we stayed over.
The room was clean, with good facilities. Comfy bed, nice bathroom. Good breakfast choices.
If you arrive after 5pm and park in the Riverside car park then it may be worth you paying the car park fee rather than doing this via the hotel as it can work out cheaper. Their standard rate is £8 but we paid less without a discount on 2 consecutive days.
Lovely large bedroom with original signs of the stable. Warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable. Sadly restaurant was not fully open due to staff sickness but what we did have was very nice. The same applies to the breakfast but again the limited breakfast was nice. The hotel is out in the country but not far from major roads and Derby.
Friendly welcome. The location was perfect for exploring the town and the hotel's restaurant was excellent as was the self service breakfast option. We wished we'd booked the restaurant for both nights of our stay as eating options in town appear to be limited. That said there's a really good Thai about 100 metres away.
The apartment had everything that I needed for my weeklong business trip. The Wi-Fi was incredibly fast! I measured it at 260MbPS!!!
The kitchen is well equipped with more utensils than I could use.
The location is just a short walk from the city centre.
Great communication with the owner from beginning to end. This property is perfectly situated for good access to many areas of Derby. House was clean, comfortable & welcoming. Will definitely try & stay here again when we visit our family in the future.
I have been booking a room at Kings Highway, Derby for several months fortnightly as a base for my son and grandson to spend time together in an excellent environment enjoyed by both. Shall continue into 2023 with next visit in January.
This is a comfortable hotel in a good location for access to Derby. We have stayed here a number of times. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and well-managed and the breakfast is excellent.
I just wanted a comfortable, clean, reasonably priced and well located hotel to stay for one night in Derby. This met all the criteria. The staff were all really nice, and the breakfast was excellent.
