Your hosts, Carol and Steve live onsite, and are available around the clock in case of emergency. Steve also runs the Fishing Tackle shop, and Carol runs the Food Van.

Property info

Our dog friendly Gypsy Carriage is situated at the heart of the tranquil Rum Bridge lake and glamping complex, just outside the historic market town of Clare. Adjacent to Hazels (our dog friendly double pod) and close to two intimate, reed fringed fishing ponds, Gypsy “Rose” has a kingsize bed, a small sofa, and allows up to two small well-behaved dogs. Conveniently sited close to the toilets, showers and the 'washing up shed'; Gypsy Rose benefits from an outdoor seating area, and is equipped with a metered electrical supply for device charging, lighting and heating. The right choice for anglers, birders, walkers… in fact, anyone seeking a re-energising short-break in splendid isolation, a getaway in nature… The on-site food van "Carol’s Kitchen" offers hot and cold drinks, snacks and meals throughout the day. The Rum Bridge Special - full English breakfast comes highly recommended.

Rum Bridge is situated on the outskirts of the historic market town of Clare, Suffolk, within easy driving distance of Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Colchester, and the Suffolk coast. The town - the smallest town in Suffolk - is home to a wealth of small independent shops - from an art gallery to butchers, bookshop to hairdressers, antiques, gifts, ladies clothing boutique, bakery, co-op and a scattering of cafes, pubs and eateries. As well as a 13th century Augustinian Priory, Clare Country Park, the stone keep ruins of Clare Castle, a medieval church and museum, it is easy to while away a few hours, just in Clare alone. Slightly further afield there is the National Trust Melford Hall, and Kentwell Hall, and historic Lavenham, the set for Godric's Hollow in the Harry Potter Films.
