Situated only 10 mins from the Ashdown Forest, there are stunning gardens, vineyards and villages for you to discover.

I've lived in West Sussex for the past nine years with my husband and three daughters, enjoying a more rural life in the country. We live in the main house - only a stone's throw from the cottage - and are on hand to help as much as you wish, especially with recommendations on where to eat or to visit in the local area.

Stablehurst Cottage is situated only a short drive from the historic villages of West Hoathly and Lindfield, 10 minutes from the Ashdown Forest and 'Winnie The Pooh' country. If coming by train, it is a 15 minute taxi journey from Haywards Heath (with direct links from Victoria, London Bridge, Clapham Junction and Gatwick). We are lucky to have Kingscote vineyard, Bluebell vineyard and Missing Link brewery nearby, with Ridgeview and Bolney vineyards within 30 minutes drive away. There are several outstanding National Trust gardens to visit (Standen, Nymans and Sheffield Park), as well as the botanical gardens at Wakehurst (the sister garden to Kew), Leonardslee gardens, Borde Hill and High Beeches. Famous Hever Castle (home to Anne Boleyn) is 30 minutes drive away and Brighton only 40 minutes away for those wanting the seaside. The Bluebell Railway runs regularly from May onwards from Sheffield Park station and is well worth a trip. There are fantastic gastro pubs only five minutes drive away (or a walk through the fields if you prefer) and we are 3 minutes drive the wedding venue The Ravenswood Hotel.
