Less than 200 metres from Eastbourne beach and opposite the Western Lawns, the Lansdowne Hotel has sea-facing lounges with original Victorian features and free Wi-Fi. The room size was significantly bigger than the 4 star hotels in the vicinity. The decor and cleanliness of the entire hotel was more like a 4 star hotel than the current 3 star rating. The breakfast was amazing and again more in keeping with a hotel of higher star rating.

Nice beach, nice people. great place in the summer and fresh in the winter but still worth a coastal visit. Be aware of some hotels, not what you expect. Great drives out to scenic and places of interest, walking or drive.
Try the Crown and Anchor pub for Sport and food, walk with the pier on your right, go past the pier and its about three hundred yards on the left. If you want a pub with just food go further on and when you come to an Italian ice cream parlour, stay on that road, it's called Marine road. Walk about 200 yards and on the left you'll come to the Marine, great food, good prices and a warm welcome. The decorations in there at Christmas are fantastic! The Pier is a typical British seaside attraction, well worth a stroll and if its windy can be a sheltered sun trap. Walking away from the pier to the west is the "Bandstand" which has concerts. Carry on along the promenade, a flat leisurely stroll, is a grass bank to sit and have fish and chips or a picnic (warning MIND THE THIEVING SEAGULLS), life boat collection shop, and a big wheel which has great views. Walk to the end and there is a café for teas coffees and cold drinks. There are plenty of public toilets along the front, one at the café end and one by the life boat shop.
I only live an hour away from Eastbourne. I stayed the night as I was attending a wedding. I've always liked Eastbourne as it has nice shops and cafes. Parking is reasonably priced, unlike Brighton. Nice walks along the seafront. It's a lovely place whatever the season. Beachy Head and Birling Gap are a must see
I've been travelling from London to Eastbourne for little "getaways" for around 30 years and have seen the town change a lot in that time. You have the usual tourist areas and then you have the hidden gems tucked away in quieter parts of the town. Eastbourne has always been a favourite location for me because it has a more relaxed pace to everything. The seafront is full of nice locations to stay at and most are very reasonably priced. The choices for food is amazing. Everything from your coastal favourites (fish and chips) to restaurants from almost every corner of the globe. You have your usual gift shops, the big store chains and the quirky independant shops - check out the emporium just off the seafront. I'm actually considering relocating there in the next year or two, as the place has already got a piece of my heart and I miss the place when I'm not actually there.
We only had a weekend but we crammed in a roller disco, indoor neon golf, a walk along the beach (pebbles) to the harbour for dinner which there was a great selection. On our last day we had a lovely walk along Beachy head followed by a lovely Sunday roast at Beachy head pub/restaurant wit stunning views (we was lucky to get seated but would recommend booking) All in all a lovely stay even for a cold wintery February weekend.
I personally think Eastbourne has an amazing Seafront and you can walk for miles on the promenade. There is live music at the bandstand in the summer months which includes good tribute bands. Eastbourne has two good theatres and the Towner art gallery. There is a cinema in the Beacon Centre and a swimming pool with a wave machine near Sovereign Harbour. Like most seaside towns there is deprivation but with the right government funding and will this could be solved. I do recommend Eastbourne for a holiday because of its beautiful seafront, its Pier and the facilities available. The climate can be kind too but it is England!
4 mins from the pier and can be in town center within 10 mins. Located right on the seafront so i was ready for a bracing walk each day along the front and then into town. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and served quickly at the table. My room was clean and tidy and bright with ensuite shower and toilet. Adequate for my needs and bed was a bit small for me but mattress comfortable. The price was excellent although eaqrly in the season and hotel pretty much full. Hard working family run and i willgo back on my next trip to England.
The ONLY reason I continued to stay at this hotel after I found bed bugs in my room was because the staff are superb!! I can't fault their helpfulness, friendliness and willingness to put themselves out to help. They really deserve better. Other plus points: The is location perfect - right on the seafront, and an easy walk to the town centre (even with my walking frame). I also had brilliant sea views. To be fair, the beds were comfortable - despite the bed bugs!
Stayed 3 nights in a double deluxe with sea views.Room was clean throughout Location was good ,easy access to the seafront and shops Near to the train station. Brighton 30 mins away.accommodation was dated but adequate for what we wanted and price reasonable.parking was good but need to request a permit from reception on arrival for 2 pound a day. Not a lot of free parking near the hotel unless you are willing to walk for 5- 10 mins.
Good spacious hotel with ground floor having public lounge areas and restaurant. Stayed during the Covid period. Good Covid precautions in place. Didn't take breakfast, preferred to find a cafe. Good sea view family room, very clean and comfortable. Have stayed in this and the other Best Western in Eastbourne, both are good. Would stay again. Parking on street not too far away was easy enough.
Eastbourne
The hotel was as described on the tin, seafront and close to the centre of Eastbourne. It was comfortable but what we particularly liked were the owners who were hospitable, friendly and a mine of information about things to see and do as far afield as Worthing and Rye. It is always nice to stay in an efficiently run family owned hotel.
Eastbourne
Booked two rooms for an overnight night stay to visit relatives and received a warm welcome from the owners, had a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast in the morning. The hotel is located near the seafront and has its own car park which is a bonus in Eastbourne. The rooms were a good size, clean and warm so I would recommend.
The hotel is very conveniently situated being on the seafront and just over the road from the pier and within walking distance of the town centre. The hotel was nice and warm and the bedroom of a very good size including a table and chairs which is always a plus. It also allows dogs to stay which is always a big positive for us.
This was my second stay here. it is a very well modernised hotel in an excellent location. This time I had a seaview room and was pleasantly surprised by how good the noise insulation is (seaview rooms in Eastbourne overlook the seafront road). There was a good choice at breakfast and it was well served.
We liked everything from Eastbourne seafront beach ect. hotel just awesome great friendly staff excellent food great location parked right outside £2 for 24hours
oceanfront, lounge bar was fantastic with enjoyable entertainment. the charm of an 19th century historic hotel.
