I thought for a budget deal I would get the broom closet but I got a lovely single room on the top floor with some view of beach. Extremely clean & well-appointed. I made use of the hair-dryer provided & was given more tea & sugar sachets when I asked. I arrived early & asked to leave my bags until the 3 pm check-in time. The receptionist ensured my room was ready so she checked me in & I went straight to my room, left my bags & went to my meeting. Excellent service!

The beach was opposite our hotel and the town had some nice restautants to visit in the evening. WE went on the big wheel and had a nice walk on the prom. Some pretty flowers but not as many flowers as they usually have. Lots of shops and a centre and some charity shops. Nice bricks and pleasant shopping experience.
Lovely seaside town with traffic that doesn’t dominate the promenade. The council does a super job in keeping it looking good, with walkways bordered with trees, shrubs and flowers. The town itself is looking tired with little variety of shops and those that are, uninspiring. One nice furniture shop and an interiors boutique across from it and that was about it. The giant Ferris wheel plonked in front of two of the smartest hotels was, for me, a real disappointment and eyesore. It smacks of downmarket Blackpool and Great Yarmouth and is hugely unfair to the surrounding hotels selling sea view rooms. The sea view from both the Lansdowne and Grand Hotel is gone, replaced by this ugly piece of engineering ‘entertainment’ that dominates the view and is more than unfortunate. For this reason I would not go again.
Lovely town, with everything in easy walking distance. Good bus connections to walking spots nearby too, and Cuckmere for kayaking too! Due to COVID I would recommended booking ahead for drinks and/or dining on weekend evenings, but I expected this and did so. The pier is sadly closed for now due to COVID which is a shame.
Good selection of restaurants to suit most tastes. Indian,Italian,Greek,Mexican,Spanish and English all in one street. Venture around the the local streets, you will find even more to tickle your taste buds. Pedestrianized areas around the shopping centre.
Eastbourne is a great place to visit especially if you like walking. The Hydro Hotel is situated atop of the hill overlooking the sea. There are three winding layers of steps to take you down to sea level, turn left and walk one mile to the pier and town, turn right and walk to Beechy Head. There are public conveniences and places for refreshment at either end. There are plenty of benches to sit on along the way. If you don't want to dine at the hotel there are plenty of nice places in the town. Eastbourne also boasts a nice enclosed shopping centre.
Eastbourne as a town and location was good. It was clean with good facilities and safe. Two problems I had. Very few people were wearing masks even were they were legally supposed to. Social distancing was an issue too but as the place was not crowded it was fine. Vegan food was not freely available and in some establishment awareness was poor too.
The hotel is perfectly located right on the seafront and even though we hadn’t paid the extra for a room with sea view, we could still see the beach from our window, which was a real treat. The 3 ladies on the front desk who greeted us on arrival were lovely and the staff at breakfast were great! The hotel also has a pool which we used every night, it is small so could get quite crowded at busy times, but plan it correctly and you can have it all to yourself! All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely come again :)
Mark and Yvette have a special 10-room bed and breakfast guest house on the beach. It was fabulous! At breakfast, they helped us plan our day. They love their work and it shows. We had never heard of Eastbourne but are now recommending Atlanta Guesthouse to everybody. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Seven Sisters white cliffs are breathtaking. Tea on the pier by the pavilion was memorable. Easy train connections along the coast. Thanks for an amazing experience.
The staff were lovely and overall the hotel was very clean. Fresh towels every day and the location was great for the seafront, bandstand and pier, as well as the buses. Food was basic but tasty and good value for money. The staff really made us feel welcome, both in the restaurant and at reception and couldnt do enough for us. The public areas were well kept and spacious. Parking was by permit at a pound a day in the roads around the hotel, so good value.
Location is great, just one minute walking distance from winter garden bus stop Just few minutes walking distance from the beach 10 minute walking distance from the Eastbourne train station Carole and Bo are welcoming and helpful Room is big, lovely and clean , and room cleaning is really good, facial tissues replenished once used up. WiFi speed is good Breakfast is good
The Mowbray calls itself a hotel but it’s really a B&B, but a highly developed one. Very comfortable, very clean and with the best breakfast I’ve had in a month-long trip staying in 4- star hotels. The breakfast room in in the basement but with bay windows and great service that make it an extremely pleasant start to the day.
A very comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. Although a little tired the rooms are comfortable and clean. Great atmosphere in the public rooms and just far enough away from Eastbourne Town Centre, but an easy walk. The hotel is good value for your money.
The view from my balcony was spectacular! I woke up for the sunrise and it was simply magical. Centrally located, close to the pier and bus station to the Beachy Head. If I ever go back to Eastbourne, I will stay again in The View hotel. Thanks!
Beach front hotel with sea view room. Window from floor to ceiling... lovely! Basic but clean. Nice bar area. Pool table. Staff all friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast which they had a deal on while we were there. All day parking for £1.
Location - on seafront, easy walk to town centre. Hotel clean and comfortable, large room with sea view, good breakfast, cooked to order. Parking voucher £1 for 24 hours, on seafront close to hotel.
Room was lovely. Hosts were too! WiFi was really good. Breakfast was very tasty. Eastbourne seafront is great for walks. Lots of good places to eat.
Location and staff were both excellent. Paid 34 pound for the night so can't really complain! Able to park outside the hotel.
Very clean, comfortable, staff was so nice, you can’t get any closer to the Eastbourne Pier!
Hotel and location was superb, Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Thank you
A friendly comfortable place to stay in Eastbourne.
Location, service, very comfortable bed and pillows. Really nice and helpful staff.
Wonderful location between the bandstand and the pier. Easy walk from the station. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the servers were friendly and professional.
The friendly receptionist who was efficient, fast and charming.
Lovely and clean refurbished room. Bedding and towels all new. Fixtures and fittings lovely.
Appreciated the extra facilities being in the room e.g. proper hairdryer, ironing board. Excellent sea view. Friendly staff.
Walking distance from the beach. Plenty of restaurants close by. About 10-15 min walk to the shopping centre. The staff are all lovely and approachable. There's always someone at the desk to welcome you. If I'm honest I was expecting a lot less that what we received. The rooms were nice. They even provided washing up liquid and sponges. Theres a washing machine/drier in the room, the staff gave us some washing powder when we ran out. Can't fault it at all!
