The Lansdowne is unbelievable value for money! It’s a fabulous find. All the staff I came across were delightful. My single room on the second floor with a great view of the sea was more than I expected - an extra sitting area, comfortable bed, good quality, appealing furnishings, bathroom not recently renovated but perfectly clean with everything you need including a comfortable bath and fluffy white towels. The multiple lounge areas and bar are inviting, a lovely spot to relax with a drink or a chat or quiet read. The restaurant 1920 was also a great experience. Good food, nice setting, friendly good service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beachy Head

Beachy Head is well known as one of the top walking spots in the land – and it’s easy to see why. The range of routes on offer is amazing, from little strolls that take in historic sites to long-winded odysseys along the South Downs Hills – and everything in between. Whichever you choose, you’ll be sure of stunning natural panoramas and fresh sea air in your lungs.

I tend to walk from the station to Beachy Head and carry on walking till I reach Birling Gap (non-stop). I am not young and I take my time. I am getting better and better each year at walking up hill, from the bottom of the first hill of the 7 sisters (where there is a cafe). It is a reminder to cut down on sweets during the year. I know that I shall have to climb that first hill.

Hotel and staff were lovely, and lovely beer garden. Area is nice with a nice beach promenade and some lovely restaurants (shout out to The Good Grub, very tasty), and great access to Beachy Head and Seven Sisters hikes.

Lovely Continental breakfast for all tastes. Welcoming and helpful staff. Room was lovely, clean, comfortable and modern with all amenities (and larger than expected for a single) with a wide opening window and wonderful sea view. Booked 2 nights, but plenty of storage if needed a longer stay. Wi-Fi code clearly typed out in room. Quieter beaches in the area and less crowded on promenade walk. Easy parking. Ideally situated for walking to Beachy Head and beyond.

The Lamb is ancient (parts date back to 1180!) so very quirky. The rooms are small but beautifully done up with all you might need, including a mini fridge with fresh milk; a nice touch. The food is good and the pub itself is popular. The location is outside the seaside town of Eastbourne but close to the coast line and great for Beachy Head etc...

The hotel is very well situated right on the front, but at the ‘ quieter’ end of Eastbourne. It’s two minutes from the Towner art gallery and the theatre, the tennis courts and about a 10 minute walk to the centre of ‘ Little Chelsea’. There’s a good view of the pier from the front rooms and also from the beach, along to Beachy Head and the cliffs. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, we were able to park using the hotel concession, the hotel generally and our room - clean and comfortable.Breakfast was also good.

The cottage was really clean and comfortable with everything you need. The setting and view are great. The weather was hot while we were there so the on-site swimming pool was a real bonus. The location is good for visiting places like Beachy Head and many other places along this stretch of the south coast.

The walks along the cliffs around Beachy Head are suitable for people of all ages as the ground is gently sloping with no steep bits. Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is very interesting as you can see how the coastline has evolved over the years. You can walk as far as you can see if you are feeling energetic.
