    “It really was upscale camping. Had help getting our gear upto the dome. Comfortable bed, good basic facilities. Fantastic view over Lochcarron and really peaceful. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful. Beautiful stars at night.”

Sterlochy Dome is an off grid luxury tent. It has a proper bed, seating and rugs. A cosy place. However, being off grid it does not have electricity or shower facilities. There is a utility building though for your own personal use which houses a basic kitchen and seperate chemical toilet with washing bowl and towels to allow you to freshen up. The dome is located in an elevated position with lovely views of the loch and surrounding hills; a really peaceful environment to relax and unwind on your holiday. There is a parking area to leave your car then a walk up the hill to reach the dome. This is not recommended for those with limited mobility. The dome is on our croft, scottish highland small farm, where we have hens, sheep and pigs. All the animals are friendly and enclosed outwith the glamping area.
we live on the croft and look after the animals, none of whom are kept for meat so live out, their lives in a natural environment. The sheep are kept for their wool which eileen spins during the winter and the pigs are kept as rotovators of the ground to preopare it for planting. The hens are free range and we sell their eggs locally. we have been involved in tourism since 2007 when we bought a hotel in the highlands and ran that for nine years. we then moved into self catering holidays before buying the croft few years ago and developing the glamping area. we love when people get the adventure and enjoy their stay in our rural setting away from the hussle and bustle of modern life.
lochcarron area is beautiful and great for sight seeing, photography, water sports and hill walking. It is very much an outdoor area although there are a few restaurants, cafes and bars in the village which are a short walk from the dome.
