Croissants put on a tiny plate,,,tinned peaches ...
It was all crammed onto a small table ,,so you had to wait for people to get there's ....
After all we paid a lot for Bed & Breakfast.....
The cooked breakfast was very good...

The property neede a good clean .
The property neede a good clean . Cobwebs dirty skirting boards Toilet brush I won’t even go there!! One of limited saucepans was unusable ( inside was burnt black) Towels was so thin they didn’t dry you ( would have been better to ask visitors to bring their own) We visited Beckhouse and stayed in several diffemt cottages and on two occasions hired with friends the farmhouse all of those visits were fantastic so hence the disappointment on this occasion. Nice little market town with plenty of places to eat in the evenings, even in the winter. It is a good centre for visiting other places nearby and it has the main attraction of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Clean tidy and relaxing.
Clean tidy and relaxing. The birds at the pond were lovely to see. Even saw a kingfisher. Hot tub was very nice and they even turned up the temperature to meet our preference. The hot tub was checked and attended to promptly ever day of our stay. I know Pickering very well as my daughters lives there. We used the site as a place to relax and be with my family after loosing my brother few weeks before. My husband had also retired that weekend so we wanted to be close to our family. All our needs were met but could have done with few more cooking dishes and trays as we did not want to go out to eat. Would recommend the site to others.

Such a beautiful part of the country.
Such a beautiful part of the country. The town itself is great just to have a good walk around. But you are close to other locations eg. Whitby. To really enjoy in my opinion one of the best locations in England. Excellent for walkers, photography ect

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction. The stops are interesting and mostly independent! Parking is plentiful! Pickering is a fabulous base to explore the moors! Just 20 minutes to Whitby, 20 miles to York. Plenty of places to eat, lovely cafes and pubs! Don’t forget to visit the Castle. Scarborough is a 30 minute drive. People in the town are very friendly and the shops are very welcoming of dogs. Pickering is a real gem of a town! Flamingo Land theme park is about 10 mins from Pickering.DawnUnited Kingdom

Pickering is an extremely sedate and soothing place to be with its abundance of independent and characterful retailers/traders. You're nudging against the Yorkshire Moors and are an enjoyable car journey away from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. A stop off at Ravenscar is highly recommended if you enjoy rural coastal sights, which has a seal colony located there who are best enjoyed from a respectfully unintrusive distance.

Would highly recommend eating in . Staff were very helpful, friendly and clearly interested in their guests and attentive to their customers. Great rural location but close to Pickering too. Loads of parking at hotel. Well managed grounds with nice outdoor seating ares to take in the views. Bed was very comfy and good water pressure showers and baths. Well appointed small bar with reasonable prices for drinks.

The food, breakfast and dinner, was excellent. The reception was always available, if not physically manned, all the time. The room was a good size, clean and quiet, despite being on a main road. Pickering is within 2 or 3 miles and is a lovely little market town on the edge of the N, Yorks Moors, and the N. Yorks Moors Railway station is in Pickering. The breakfast was served in the conservatory and was virtuously faithful to the positive reviews (enormous tea pots a hit). The rooms were spacious and clean - they'd actually been redecorated just weeks before our stay. Staff all friendly and knowledgeable. An experience at a good price. It's just how a small hotel should be run.
