Welcome to The Shack. A rustic cabin with private access, garden and option for camping when booking The Shack -(Please message for details, prior arrangement required). Parking, Wi-Fi, Log fire and room to sleep 4 adults . Bike storage, barbeque, fire pit, home grown produce (season depending!) available. Cosy and functional. The Shack is suited for those looking for a cosy rural space. We are blessed with dark skies and quiet nights. The layout is spacious with an open plan feel. Both the double and bunk beds are situated within the same room, please see pics. There is a fridge, toaster and microwave in the kitchenette with all cutlery, plates etc provided. There is no oven or hob in The Shack, but there is a covered BBQ area, and we can recommend great local food options. There is log burner is in addition to electric heating, Netflix and board games. Maps and local history books are on the shelf and we are always happy to provide any local info to help you enjoy your stay. We are dog friendly, please advise us prior to your arrival if you wish to bring your four legged friend. We look forward to welcoming you.
Hello! We are avid walkers, mountain bikers, paragliding people with a super friendly dog called Doug. We travel as much as possible and always look for value, location and a friendly welcome. Which we hope we can offer you. The Shack is private, so only here if you need something, though Doug may come say hi on the sly...
We are located just 3.5 miles from the historic market town of Llanidloes. With cycle route 81 & 8, Glyndwr's Way, Severn Way, Hafren Forest -(Source of the river Severn AND the Wye), Llyn Clywedog - (ask us about SUP and Sailing) - all on the doorstep, The Shack is a great on route stop off, or a base to check out the best that Mid Wales has to offer. A bit further afield (20 miles) is the majestic Elan Valley and the wonderful town of Rhayader which has the Red Kite Feeding Centre. A must see. The Shack is just 45 minutes from the seaside haven of Aberystwyth, on the way is Nant y Arian Trail Centre for walking/running and biking. More Red Kite feeing here and views to the sea. Or Ynyslas - Dyfi National Nature Reserve, huge sand dunes, miles of windswept beach - Did we mention Kite Surfing? Snowdonia National Park is within easy reach, on the way north is the ancient Capital of Wales - Machynlleth. Head West of Llanidloes over an enchanting mountain road - clear day, stop at the view point - or maybe partake in a wild swim at a mountain lake on route. A wonderful market, eclectic shops and eateries great you here. And if you like mountains.. the mighty Cadair Idris awaits. Trains from the Midlands and London arrive just 3 miles from The Shack so we are super well connected. There is also a healthy selection of steam and narrow gauge railways in the surrounding area if you're a bit more into the journey not the destination.
