Location was an ideal base for us as we had plans to travel all over Cornwall. The choice for breakfast was superb with homemade marmalade, jam and lemon curd, the homemade yoghurt was lush and the cooked breakfast was great too. The beds were...

This cottage was originally built as three cottages and became one cottage about a hundred and fifty years ago . It has central heating but also log fires, which are lit in the colder months. The cottage is quite querky, and little steps up and down to each of the bedrooms . There is a lovely , friendly feel to the cottage and hopefully our guests pick up on that and feel quite relaxed here.the gardens are set out as a traditional cottage garden , with fruit and flowers and veg all growing together. The house looks out over stunning views of woods and countryside by day and on a clear night the stars and the night sky is amazing.
We have been running Vine Cottage for 15yrs now and we still enjoy welcoming guests and meeting people. We have met some amazing people , some lovely children and some wonderful dogs . The garden is one of my joys and is always changing , its lovely to see guests walking around and enjoying what they see . It all starts in the car park and then the front garden and then the courtyard garden which can only be seen from the back rooms . We believe in serving the best food available to our guests . Our sausages are from an award winning farm , that our guests can walk to , see the cattle and buy from their farm shop. We always serve 2 types of bread at breakfast and it all comes from the great Cornish bakery Niles , in ST Austell. Our dairy is from Cornish dairy Rodda's along with the clotted cream and butter . Our yogurt is home made as is all the marmalades and jams. The fruit is home grown and local grown and only bought in season. We do our very best to not use single use plastics and we recycle as much as possible . Our milk is bought home in our own glass bottles. Our meat is in packaging that can be recycled . Our fruit is loose and our bread in paper .
Local to us is the small town of Fowey, with its history, pubs and restaurants, walks and fabulous individual shops is a must for visitors. The Luxulyan valley is on our doorstep and with its waterways, waterwheel and famous viaduct is a great place to walk and explore, on reaching the village , find places to eat before the walk home or take the car and benefit from the free parking. Ten mins from Vine Cottage is the old harbour village of Charlestown, great for the foodies and with its shops and shipwreck centre certainly somewhere not to be missed. All of Cornwall is waiting to be explored and we are perfectly placed here in Par to visit the east , west or the north coast . There is something for every age here , we have a fantastic bay with a water sports centre, the Cornish coastal path , inland walks , local pony trekking , golf and some of the best gardens in the country to visit . We have an Indian restaurant now , opened this year 2020 , on the Highway and everyone is saying the food is really good. Our guests can walk down in 15 mins or drive down as it has a large car park .
