There are a number of aspects to Newquay. The town centre itself verges on desperate. To say it is touristic understates. We were stunned. There are however a number of lovely walks and beaches and it provides a base for visiting the nicer places up the coast, none of which are anything like as downmarket as Newquay town centre.
This place is just amazing if you love the beach. Lots of fantastic places to eat, loads of different kinds of watersports, jetsking, kayaking, surfing, boatrides. Fishing expeditions, helicopter rides. Very relaxing if you just want to watch the world go by and the sea coming in, beautiful sunsets! Superb base for going down to Lands End, the Lizard, Penzance, across to the East side of cornwall, Looe , Polperro, Mevagissy, so many places to visit. Has its own airport so none of that 7 hours on the motorway malarky!, Get yourselves a hire car and the world is your oyster. Just love this place! Only problem is have you enough holidays from work to cover everything you want to do.
Plus: The beaches and surrounding coastal area are beautiful and worth visiting. Con: While the town has some excellent restaurants, walking in downtown one can find more trash lying around than other coastal towns.
The beaches were breathtaking and surfing was amazing! Lots of places to pick from for meals. People were very helpful and pleasant to be with. Public bus were easy to use and reasonably priced. Location made it easy to access local tours and many interesting villages.
This was one of my most enjoyable weekend breaks ever. Beaches are beautiful. We stayed on tolcarne beach in the beach huts. It was amazing waking up on the beach. I will definitely be back at some stage.
There is a lot to see and do in Newquay. The beaches are beautiful. If you are looking for a great cream tea you must try Cafe Cloud! We enjoyed our Sea Safari with Sea Safari and Fishing. The staff there are wonderful. Newquay can be a bit tricky driving around but there are a lot of short stay car parks that are easy to find and within easy walking distance to most of the attractions. I would highly recommend getting the Just Park app on your phone to pay for parking. It was so convenient.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, you can pre order your breakfast every evening. We got to say hello to the resident boxer dog and puss cats. They hotel was clean and had a lovely sea view. Parking at the location was easy which was a big plus for Cornwall! You are minutes walk away down to lusty glaze beach too which was beautiful. It was only 5 mins drive into Newquay for all the restaurants, also only 5 mins drive from Newquay zoo. It's also got a Tesco express near by for any extras you may need.

Very cheap accommodation comparing to others in Newquay. It was more like sheared house not hotel. Everything was very basic but clean. Beds very comfortable, Room equipped with fridge, wardrobe, sink and towels. Two bathrooms, upstairs one with cold water only, big kitchen. Never seen any staff as you check in yourself and receiving email with instructions. Overall good value for money if you after good location and cheap stay.
