Beautiful setting, tent was fantastic, facilities were great (shower was nicer than mine at home!) and it was great looking up to see the sky while washing! The badminton and swingball was great. It felt very secluded from the other tents. Hosts...

Emma
Welcome to Rutland's smallest Vineyard stocked full of grapes - when I purchased the Vineyard back in 2022 it was abandoned and we've worked tirelessly to make it active again planting it with lots of varieties of grape for us to make our own field wine. You're welcome to explore our vineyard and pick some salad from a corner of the kitchen & flower garden, also fresh eggs available from our happy girls which your welcome to look at. There is a large grassed area where your children are welcome to play with parent supervision where stands a 400 year old oak tree. Set over 7 acres your welcome to explore. We have lots of wildlife at the vineyard including honey bees, a huge variety of wild birds, foxes, deer and hedgehogs to name a few and over the hedge our friends cattle.
I'm Emma and I'm looking forward to welcoming you to my vineyard where you can explore with nature. I love meeting different people and offering them a piece of my lifestyle. I also have another product based business where I sell products made, produced and farmed by women, I come from a line of female farmers and I've spent a large portion of my life farming but now I farm in a different way, as I farm grapes !! I have a small flock of sheep which are lawn mowers and two pet pigs who are very spoilt they don't live at the vineyard though !! I absolutely love gardening and growing food for my family. I'm very passionate about being sustainable and caring for the land to enable it to carry on producing, so I follow as many practises as possible to allow me to be sustainable. Rutland is the smallest county and in my opinion the best county ! Here in Rutland we have three Vineyards. I'm a wife to Matt and Mother to two girls and I look forward to welcome you and your family to our Vineyard in Rutland.
We are situated between two historic market towns Uppingham and Oakham. There is a footpath that runs from the Vineyard to our local town Uppingham so you could walk or bike ( it is up a big hill) or a short drive into the historic market town Uppingham where there are lots of small independent boutique shops, coffee shops, a bakery, an ironmongers, butchers and antiques shops. Also several restaurants, there is also a small coop supermarket and a Budgens where you can also buy local meat and produce. On a Friday there is a traditional market with a fruit and veg stall, fish mongers and flower stall and a hot food stall for take aways. A short drive is the famous Rutland Water where you can walk, bike or take part in water sports there are lots of places to eat around the local villages of the water. Oakham is another market town which has a market on a Wednesday and Saturday the town has lots of shops and places to eat. Including a very informative museum which is small but hugely interesting with facts about our county.
