The views were amazing. From the patio or looking out any of the windows there were stunning views. The house was very spacious and well equipped and the shower in the en suite was fantastic! We took the walking route just up from the house which was lovely and even went blackberry picking along the road and made a crumble which the kids really enjoyed. Its a fantastic base for exploring the area, we went sea kayaking with the seals in Adrigole and spent a gorgeous day on the beach in Garinish.

Our house is called DOMHAIN EILE - Gaelic for 'another world' and that's just what this is. Domhain Eile is bright and spacious with beautiful contemporary styling throughout. The site enjoys spectacular views of Bere island and it's lighthouse, Bantry bay and the Atlantic. Please take a look at the photographs provided in order to get a sense of the sheer beauty of the loction. The rugged and unspoiled Beara peninsula in South West Cork is often described as one of the most untamed and beautiful parts of Ireland. Domhain Eile provides an ideal base from which to experience this lovely part of Ireland. The house is 1.6 miles from the fishing port of Castletownbere, which is a town well-served with a large supermarket, other shops, restaurants and pubs. Our house is also very close to the Beara Walking and Cycling Trail. Guests can take a ferry over to Bere island or travel over to Dursey island on Ireland's only calbe car. Drogzhen Beara buddhist centre is close by as are colourful villages and towns, golf courses, beaches and lots more besides.
We are always pleased to share Domhain Eile with guests from around the world or from other parts of Ireland. We fell in love with the Beara peninsula about twelve years ago and travel down there as often as possible. Our house is on the side of a hill (hence the panoramic views) and whenever we think of Domhain Eile, it is the changing light on the water, or the sunrise over Bantry bay, or the beacon of Ardnakinna lighthouse at night, that is pictured in the mind's eye. In addition, the local people are immensely friendly and welcoming, and always have time for the chat. We are not yet finished discovering this beautiful part of the world!
We will send our guests information on restaurants and local amenities and ideas on what to see and do, before you arrive. There's also lots of tourist information leaflets available for you at the house.
