Breakfast excellent. I wished for some attractive garden layout to sit and appreciate nature. Existing outdoor layout fulfils function as reception area for events. Nightly entertainment such as pianist would be welcome, at present just Saturday nights.

The property is a beautiful little country house in an equally beautiful location. The hosts and staff are absolutely lovely and most helpful. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and Annette never turned down a request for a cup of tea or a drink at the bar no matter when we asked. Our stay here was genuinely lovely.

FAQs about hotels in Killarney

The Lily of the Lake

Overlooking the tranquil waters of Lough Leane, colourful Killarney is a top Irish tourist destination. The UNESCO-listed Killarney National Park surrounds Muckross House, a stately home sitting in large grounds with a traditional farm.

A tree-lined lane leads to Muckross Abbey, a former Franciscan monastery whose cloisters enclose a tall yew tree. Celtic crosses line the cemetery and beyond is the lake, at the centre of which is a tree-lined outcrop, home of the historic Ross Castle. This 15th-century stone fortress once housed the O’Donoghue clan, one of whom reportedly lives at the bottom of the lough.

More legends envelop the Ring of Kerry – a scenic drive starting from Killarney and supposedly the last place to spot a leprechaun. Gushing Torc waterfall is just one of its fantastic sights.

In Killarney itself, horse-drawn carts roam narrow streets whose Irish pubs offer great nightlife. Impressive St Mary’s Cathedral has a towering spire and somewhat dark interior. The local gaelic football team play at Fitzgerald Stadium, and more sports can be enjoyed at Killarney riding stables and the nearby golf and fishing club. There is also a popular racecourse.

Accommodation in Killarney on Booking.com includes 5-star lakeside hotels, B&Bs near the train station and town centre guest houses. All with that trademark Irish hospitality.

Such a beautiful part of the country.

Such a beautiful part of the country. Easy to strike out in to Killarney National Park from our location. And when we went, end of July, the town was vibrant with lots of excellent pubs and restaurants and lots of entertainment every night. Shout outs to O'Donoghue's, Reidy's, Dunloe Arms and The Grand.

I had 4 nights in Killarney and could have stayed a little longer to enjoy more time around town. I hired a bike and went around Killarney National Park ( Muckross House and Abby and Torc waterfall) then did 3 day tours with Deros (very good company no complaints)1. The ring of Kerry 2. Dingle Penisula 3. Gap of Dunloe (absolutely amazing with pony ride in and boat ride out)

An incredible, beautiful place, full of history and culture. I didn't have enough time to explore the places. Each place has its own charm. I liked the Muckross Abbey restaurant; impeccable service and good food. Very convenient location. I hiked around the park and rented a bike at Killarney bike rental. It was a perfect two days!

This place truly exceeded my expectations.

This place truly exceeded my expectations. The lake is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery with a depth of color that’s simply stunning. The walking paths are thoughtfully designed and clearly marked, making it easy to explore the area. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the surroundings—whether by horse-drawn carriage, boat, bike, or on foot. Summer here is beautiful, but I imagine the charm and tranquility of this place shine through in every season.

I would have loved to stay longer and really soak up the Ring of Kerry. I highly recommend the Gap of Dunloe—our hike was like a dream. I would say getting around is quite easy, and we liked the restaurant right in the Gap of Dunloe parking lot, Kate Kearney’s Cottage. I believe they play music every night, and when we went, there was also a bit of river dancing!

    Hotel needs attention

Hotel needs attention They really need to focus on their bar staff we were ignored so many times at the bar Where is reception staff after 10pm? It was very strange that a group of people had a function room for the 3 days we were there and where were they taking the food?

The hotel was stunning inside and out, the staff were absolutely amazing from receptionists to the bar staff! We were treated so well and had such an enjoyable trip. The staff gave great recommendations for restaurants and bars and that really helped us make the most of our little holiday to Killarney. The hotel was literally a ten minute walk to the town centre so no need to get taxis or drive!
