Situated between the rivers Barrow and Slaney in historic County Carlow, the property is a traditional 1800s style Irish farmhouse. Surrounded by gardens and orchards and adjacent to a working farm, this is a private property set back from the road with private gated access and with views out towards the Blackstairs mountains in the distance. The property and grounds are surrounded by fields of wheat, barley and oil seed.
Larchgrove have been hosting guests since 2023.
The local neighborhood is typical of rural Ireland. Surrounded by agriculatural lands and positioned with views over the local Blackstairs mountain range, the property is in the barley belt of Ireland. Local hotels include The Lord Bagenal, The Step House, Borris House and Mt Wolseley. Local golf clubs can be found at Carlow, Borris, Bunclody and Mt Wolseley. Some of Irelands best fishing is close-by in the Slaney and Barrow. There are also canal boats and cruisers for hire on the river Barrow while the river Slaney is ideal of kayaking and canoeing. It goes without saying that there are good pubs around. O Shea's in Borris, Osbornes in Rathanna, The Fighting Cocks and The Irishmans in Carlow are all solid. Finally for food options check our Sha Roe in Clonegal, Ristorante Rinuccini in Kilkenny and The Lord Bagenal Inn in Leighlinbridge.
