We stayed for a week. the apartment was simple but very clean. We came looking for sun, beach and quiet and we certainly found all three. the sunsets were spectacular and the sea was clean, warm and and the beach wide and mostly deserted. There are two similarly priced restaurants within walking distance from the apartment. We ate excellent food in both, including a local fish called Leppo and calamari and the best homemade fries and curry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We took a local tuk-tuk to go to the market and it was fun and safe. A perfect escape!AnaSpain - 10Scored 10

Cancabcona is a small town, so it is best to keep your expectations accordingly. Apart from Palolem beach which is the biggest highlight of this place, you can go inside and visit places like Mallikarjuna Temple, a trip to Monkey Island, or boat ride to Butterfly island etc. Food on the beach was good but was not authentic goan. You can get a better price and more authentic food away from the beach towards the internal areas. The beach has become too crowded. With the rising water levels shacks are built too close to the sea. I couldn't access my hotel from the beach at high tide/night. They need to ban straws in all shacks.

Beaches are beautiful, but sometimes a little crowded.
Beaches are beautiful, but sometimes a little crowded. Alarios, Avocado and Sioni were the restaurants where we ate, and all three are good. We also enjoyed the ride into the sea, although we couldn't make much of dolphins. We paid 1.2k for 2 people. But it depends on how many others are sharing the ride. Do negotiate the rates.

Bed was comfortable and there was a mosquito net though its better to bring an odomos and antimosquito plug, there is a very simple kitchen to prepare the basics and a kettle in the room for coffee and tea! Anish is a excellent host, ready to do his best for a good stay.

Nanu and Sanket run a great guest house and shack on the beach, serving great food and drinks with lovely staff.
