A 100 year-old stone storehouse still standing in the middle of the woods that has been converted into a photo art gallery is now also a lodging facility. You can enjoy this unique space surrounded by the photographs of Hokkaido’s natural scenery. The kitchen is completely furnished. There are 2 bedrooms. A twin room, single bed and 1 futon set at the loft space. During the summer you can enjoy barbecuing and eating outside in the spacious yard. ★Please be sure to read the following note before booking★ Lighting is limited due to the small windows. And because of the very steep staircase we do not recommend those with bad backs/legs, small kids to stay. (There is no toilet on the second floor.) Anyone interested though please do not hesitate to contact us. The bathtub is unusually small and is not big enough for larger guests. We recommend using the shower or the neighborhood hot springs located 10 minutes away by car. Being an old building surrounded by trees, it is impossible to keep out all the living creatures (insects, etc.) even in winter. We do our best in cleaning but please keep this in mind. The toilet is a simplified flush type.
Osamu is an analog photographer who continues taking film photographs of Hokkaido’s natural scenery. Only clicking the shutter when my heart has been touched. Enjoying the mountains, a walk in the fields, picking wild mountain vegetables, fishing the streams, lakes, and Sea of Okhotsk. In the winter, walking around using Nordic skis to enjoy the scenery. Mostly all of my handiwork on the inside of the storehouse. English spoken by Mika. Mika’s basket weaving workshops also available. We welcome anyone interested in photography and nature.
