Madgy helped us with everything we needed. We found it quite difficult to arrive at the campsite using matatus because they cross through the park from Sekenani to Talek, and since 1st July 2023 anybody using the gates must pay the entry fee (which is 80$ for foreigners). Madgy is aware of this and he is offering rides from Narok to avoid paying the fee using the back road instead (it's quite adventurous crossing the river if it has been raining the previous days, as in our case, but very exciting!). We booked the safari with him and it was amazing! We enjoyed it a lot! We even helped us find a shared taxi from the campsite to Narok as we are traveling on a budget. Thanks for taking care of us :) We would come back if we ever visit Maasai Mara again. Worth the price:)

The location was obviously great, the staff was very friendly and the food was very good. There was a great buffet in the evening and for lunch the staff even prepared a vegan and gluten free lunch for my gilfriend unfortunately we didn't get any breakfast that fitted her diet.

The camp, located immediately to the left after Talek gate, is separated from the Masai Mara National Park only by a river, so that all sorts of animals could be spotted from time to time around the camp, the most frequent guest being baboons, warthogs, and hippos. The Masai guards are very watchful and make sure that everyone stays safe. Sleeping in the vicinity of the park comes with the wonderful experience of nighttime animal noises. The food was good and staff was very friendly.

Greenwood Camp is a great base for your safari trip to the Masai Mara. The camp itself is peaceful and beautifully situated next to the park. All facilities are clean and well maintained and the food is great! Magdy, the owner of the camp, is super helpful and will make sure that you get the most out of your stay, including organizing safari drives and transport back and forth to Nairobi if necessary. As an added bonus, the camp is frequently visited by monkeys, antelopes and warthogs, so you almost don't have to go to the Masai Mara to feel that you are on a safari!
