Great city to visit: beautiful architecture, clean, relaxing, friendly people, nice restaurants (local cuisine and international). A nice place to walk (in particular the river walk. Nearby areas to visit (like Trakai). Also, the farmers market area is a must visit where one can get fruits and everything else.

loved the diversity- you've got the classic baltic architecture of the old town, the artsy charm of uzupis, the medieval looking castle, and the shiny new high rise buildings right next to the traditional wooden houses of snipiskes(not in most tourist guides but definitely worth a walk around), all within walking distance of eachother I'd reccomend you go to lake Balsys if you have spare time. it's absolutely beautiful, with a small beach and boat rentals, and there's a walking path around the lake which is not only nice in itself but when I went off-path down to the water's edge I had my own shaded spot of forest where I chilled for hours completely uninterrupted. it's easy to reach through public transport and the route goes through the more suburban areas of the city and gives you a nice peek into more rural Lithuania, useful if you want to get a feel for the country as a whole while on a short city breakAAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Great public transport and travel/ticket app Plenty of monuments and sights - very green Lovely vibe - plenty for young people - with at least 2 super open-air bars. Many coffee shops and restaurants! I loved the Churches, of which there are many. Easy public bus trip to Trakai (2e60 to go but 4e to come back??) I had pretty good/warm weather in early June; when it rains it rains! Have a brolly ;) A balmy & dry 26C next week!

The old City in Vilnius is a marvel! We enjoyed it so much. It has a kind of safe Bohemian atmosphere. There are wonderful Churches, Castles, Cafes and bars to explore and the standard of the food preparation is just amazing! I guess that could be dangerous for your figure... but worth it! If you have a few words of Lithuanian it helps too, but the folk are by and large very friendly. I would go back for another visit tomorrow! Actually our stay felt too short. It is really a wonderful place to explore. Take some good comfortable walking shoes. The Locals are very fashionable, in some parts it reminds me of Paris and the Left bank. Vilnius is beautiful - worth a visit to this undiscovered gem of a city. Magnificent churches, a historic old town (the entire old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site), easily navigable streets - one gets a sense of history. We left Vilnius with happy memories.
