From the village it is a short walk to Power Station, Rakaia River, a children's playground and tennis courts. Off roading, hunting and fishing all close by, as well as lots of walking options, including woodland walks in arboretum. The nearest supermarkets are in Darfield or Methven, both a 45-minute drive from the village.

Located just one hour's drive South-West from Christchurch, Methven is the centre point to 9 ski fields in Canterbury, with the well known Mt Hutt only 40 mins away. If you're not a skier or snowboarder there's still many reasons to visit this stunning town. With Mountain biking tracks close by, horse trekking, 4WD high country adventures and even hot air ballooning there's something for everyone.
