It was beautiful. Doha is very clean and family friendly. Metro is a fantastic way to get around Doha very cheap for day pass 6 Qatari Riyals, which is approx £1.20. I will return, but in cooler months from October to Feb, August is very hot during the day. National Museum and Museum of Islamic Art are both excellent places to visit. Souq Waqif comes alive in the evening, great bargains instead of Dubai Mall which in comparison is expensive. I chose the Alwadi hotel because of it's location to the Souq Watiq. Also the marina was close by. Unfortunately the temp was over 40 deg so apart from a visit to the Souq Our sight seeing was a little curtailed. I visited the Souq early evening on my own. I didn't feel unsafe. So if you are a woman on your own and you dress respectfully you can walk thru the Souks quite safely. It's a very clean city.
