This was our favorite accommodation during 2 weeks in Romania! Exactly as the photos and reviews expressed. It was so relaxing!!! Once we settled in, our hostess Andrada made excellent recommendations. Day one, we strolled through the village then experienced a delicious dinner served at a home in Breb. Second day we explored Merry Cemetery, Museum of Victims of Communism and Barsana Monastery. The evening was magical as we relaxed on the wooden swing, cooked dinner in the tiny, well equipped kitchen and enjoyed a campfire. We were delighted when a family was grazing their sheep in the adjoining field. Such fun watching the children play with our small dog!

Our little cottage was adorable. Staff member Adrana was fluent in English, sweet, and very helpful. Our dinner at their friend Viorica was absolutely delicious and a real highlight. The cottage was well-stocked for us to make our own breakfast. The grounds are peaceful and lovely.

Our 2 nights stay at Penelope's Village Hotel was one of our all time favorite experiences. Next time we'll book more than 3 nights to get to enjoy the village and the fabulous surroundings in Maramures. We stayed in Casa Mica that is superbly restored and is equipped with everything you need. You have vegetables, eggs, milk, butter, bread and cheese to make your own breakfast. We spent the evenings enjoying the fire pit, listening to the fire cracking and to the sounds of the nature. Penny, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having created this wonderful place, for working so hard to keep the traditional values, for being a wonderful host. we can't wait to return!

Andrada is such a nice person and Pusa, the dog, is adorable. The welcome pack for breakfast was tasty and diverse. The kitchen is very well equipped, a lot better than any other I've come across in other accommodations. I highly recommend this place!

This place is exceptional. The location, the ambiance, the esthetics - all top notch We walked around the village to check on other accommodations - this one hands down is the best. Facilities are a bit rustic, but so is Maramures You don't need to look for ethnographic museum, you are staying in one.
