MAGIC!! Our family had an incredible experience at Chai Lai. I did a lot of research to make sure it was an ethical sanctuary. I feel certain that it is. The owner also supports the local community in many ways through her non-profit and employment of the local villagers. We stayed on the mountain side. In the evenings we hung out at the cafe for elephant happy hour and had a blast hanging out with the elephants and fellow travelers. We also paid extra to have time with an elephant in the river. Amazing!!

Beautiful stay, truthfully the most beautiful location. We did the 2 day overnight tour and we had such a unique experience. The elephants are everywhere and you can see they are treated well & are happy to eat A LOT! Also staff was very helpful with booking and transportation.

    No the rooms all have fans. We are located up in the mountains so it's not hot at night as in the city.
