Great location in the national park, food was exceptional and the owners were so lovely and welcoming, they picked us up from Hua Him train station and rented us a bike for 250 baht per day and we got good use out of it. View across the wetlands was stunning and the room had amazing aircon.

Nice beach, some activities, Kajak, ATV, restaurant, massage places, some caves. Some hotels are specifically kids friendly. Good beach if you want to relax or for a family.
Not really for party people, only if you bring everyone for your party yourself.
Also bring Moskito spray!

Arrive at Lungcha homestay in the afternoon.
Arrive at Lungcha homestay in the afternoon. Make a boat trip at sunset (starting point directly in front of the homestay). The lake with thousands of lotus flowers and birds is phantastic. They offer a 150.- baht dinner in Thai style (a bit oily, but good and plenty). Next morning do another sunrise trip: it is very different, because the light is different, there are more birds, the lotus flowers are open, the atmosphere is just magic. Costs 500,- baht for the boat (takes up to four people). Breakfast at Lungcha included and check out. There is not much to do or see near the homestay, perhaps you can stroll to the Ranger IV station in about 20 min, there is a small stripe of beach and access to the lake.

I rented a scooter to visit the park 2 days.
The first day I visited the Phraya Nakhon Cave. It was definitely one of the highlights. Even the walk was nice, especially the first climb with nice views over the sea. I arrived before 10:00 in the cave, the perfect time to have the best sunlight.
The second day I made a tour around the park (about 120 km) and visited nearly all indicated places: the Sam, Phraya Beach (nothing special), the Khao Daeng with boat tour (nice), Khao Daeng View Point (a difficult and sometimes steep climb, but with a wonderful view), and the Lotus Pound (very nice but not the best season to see the blooming lotus. Returning I took road 1021 where you can have beautiful sunset over the wetlands.

The sandy beach is very pleasant and gives an opportunity to observe/interact with local people involved in various types of fishing.
Samroiyod National Park is a must, particularly the Phraya Nakhon Cave with the small shrine inside (trail is steep though, requires a good physical condition). Cheap seafood is available everywhere in the village, by the beach.

A glorious golden sandy bay, unspoiled by mass tourism, yet has several good quality hotels for every budget. Several restaurants, a few beach bars giving the bay an overall almost tropical island feel. This must have been how Pattaya was before mass tourism and concrete development spoiled its natural charm. Let's hope it doesn't happen here.

Great beachfront suitable for long walks.
Great beachfront suitable for long walks.
Excellent choice of local restaurants.
Easy to access the hire of bikes, motorcycles, sidecar combos and cars.
Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
Great selection of properties to stay in.
There’s even a local 9 hole golf course that needs a bit of TLC but is nevertheless a good test.
Nice, quiet and cozy place next to the national park. Hosts where very friendly, helpful and gave us a lot of infos about the surroundings. They have a dog rescue there and the dogs are amazing. We were there for one night and had lunch + cocktails, which we can really recommend. Will come back again for sure! Thanks a lot :)
The hotel was very nice, with a garden and a pool. It was very relaxing. The staff was very nice and helpful. We could get a van to the Phraya Nakhon Cave.
What we liked: a large desk where I could work on, the pool and Netflix when it was raining.
Great stay here, the bungalows are nice and cosy, surrounded by nature. Very quiet at night. Close to restaurants, beaches and the national park. We got great advice from the owner. Free breakfast in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay there.
very close to the beach. quiet. the beds were incredibly comfortable. I must admit that nowhere in Thailand I slept as well as here. I will remember it wonderfully!
