I spent a lot of time on Booking, com finding a hotel with sensational views of the bay. This had good views…… but I was disappointed. It was ok. Whole place is a bit tired. Rooftop bar and restaurant shut. Covid they say.

Spent 3 days in Halong, main purpose was to do a 2 day 1 night Halong Bay cruise, which we did.
The weather is not the fault of Halong but hotel, where we stayed 3 nights, staff said that March, April, weather is overcast, a lot of wet fog, quite miserable, which is what we found.
Explored quite a bit of HL, nothing of interest, wouldn’t recommend it and couldn’t wait to leave.

Halong bay is wonderful, but Verdure cruise was overpriced for the service. The food was not all Vietnamese as advertised and water was very limited. We were only offered one small bottle each over the 2 days. In fact what they call their 2 day cruise was actually less than 24 hours on the boat. Take your own alcohol if you like a drink because te onboard prices were outrageous - for example 900000 Vietnamese dong for a bottle of wine that costs 1500 to 200000 on land.

We had looked at many options for sailing on Halong Bay and read descriptions from many sources. Based on what we read, we chose Essence Grand Halong Bay Cruise and we do not regret that choice at all because it met all our expectations and more. We felt like royalty the entire time.

Lovely place to visit. Ha Long market is worth a look.
Lovely place to visit. Ha Long market is worth a look. The cruise around Ha Long bay is stunning. I would recommend booking this trip via reception. Cheaper trips are available but the boats don't look as comfortable and food, activities etc are all extra whereas they're included in the one booked via the hotel. An excellent day out.

The overnight cruises, as currently set, up are a rip off.
The overnight cruises, as currently set, up are a rip off. They hardly sail past a strait line from the port where you still can see the city. You see the same bolder up close. And anchore in the same spot with most of the view taken by other cruise ships.
The best way is to stay at a hotel and take a day cruise l, or a few it’ll cost 2-3 times less.

A two day cruise into Ha Long Bay was the absolute highlight of our time in Vietnam. However, Sun World theme park should not be missed. Further enjoyment can be found on the hop-on-hop-off tour bus, once you feel comfortable with the city, use Grab to get cheap taxis. We found some great places to eat around the main Sun World entrance.
The breakfast was good - big size portions and offered alternatives for vegetarians. You had an option of western or Vietnamese breakfast so everyone was catered for. Juice and english breakfast tea was a nice addition. The staff were really friendly and helpful - they helped us book our tours to Ha Long Bay and allowed us to have free late check out. The room service food was really nice and affordable prices. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are interested in visiting the bays as the hotel is not far from the port.
We did a one-night cruise of Ha Long Bay.
Genesis’s organisation of our transport from Hanoi was very efficient.
The room on board was surprisingly large and had a well-appointed bathroom with a bath.
Although the weather was rainy almost all our time on board, all the promised activities took place.
The food was plentiful and the quality was surprisingly good.
The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. They helped to make the trip a really enjoyable experience in spite of the weather.
This cruise is a must if you’re going to Ha Long Bay. The food was incredible, the staff was so kind and accommodating, and you’ll find yourself feeling like the luckiest person to wake up with the view you have in your cabin. We did 2 nights 3 days and would say you should do the longer stay. Everyone who did 1 night wished they were staying for 2. It’s worth it and you get more excursions like going to one of the islands with locals, catamaran cruises, and more time to swim and explore.
Everything about this little hotel.
We booked the king room and it was totally worth it. My girlfriend was delighted with the room condition. Clean, everything brand new, clean bathtub, toilet with electrical bidet, a shower room...to sum up, it is well equipped.
Staff were super friendly, even recommended us to take a Ha Long Bay cruise tour package in which we totally had a blast with.
I would recommend anyone looking for a cozy stay to take this hotel up with no hesitation.
This is a lovely boutique hotel tucked in from the Main Street across from the bay. Everything is quite charming from the decor to the staff. We loved our room especially since it has both a bath and a shower, perfect for relaxing. The staff were very helpful to point out the best beach (Hon Gai) closest to the hotel. We were also very pleased with how smooth check in/check out was at the reception. This place is definitely bookmarked by us for future trips to Ha Long.
We spent the first day going to the sunworld park and cable car it was a short walk down to the main street after arriving around 11am. The hotel helped us with booking a 4 hour from 2pm to 6pm 2nd day and a 6 hour from 12pm to 6pm 3rd day Ha Long bay cruise. we are now waiting to head to Sapa around 10pm which will take about a 7 hour drive to arrive around 6 or 7am.
The price was fair and the staff spoke decent English which made everything easy.
Having a full sized hotel suite on a cruise boat exceeded our expectations. Ammenities were modern and luxurious. Combined with the setting (beautiful Lan Ha/Ha Long Bay) and this was a truly magical experience. We were well looked after by Kevin our waiter who attended to us throughout the 3 day, 2 night cruise. Thank you Kevin!! Tom (Cruise!) the GM has a wonderful team who are all exceptional. This was a trip that we will never forget.
This property owner rejected my booking although confirmed via Booking.com at the last minute when my family came for checking in. They lied about no available room and had no responsibility on what we had to experience on our new year trip. Then my family with 02 children and a little baby had to seek another property instead at the very last minute in a far city. My family comes from Saigon and schedule new year trip in Ha Long Bay
The cruise tour was well organized and perfect. We enjoyed it a lot. Food was tasty, room was spacious and the staff was very helpful. Everything exceeded our expectations and made our wonderful time in Lan Ha bay. We also reserved for Hanoi Street Food Tour, which was also very super nice. We Enjoyed Hanoi Street food and learned a lot about Hanoi, Vietnam and local culture from our tour guide. Really recommend you to try this.
The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff go above abd beyond in every single capacity. I would like to give a special mention about Pham Viet Ahn (Benjamin) who looked after me and my girlfriend throughout with a constant smile as well as giving us a free upgrade. Also amazing were Than Duc Nguyen and Nghia who welcomed us very warmly. The room was exceptional with panoramic views from multiple bay windows across Ha long bay.
Definitely a highlight on our Vietnam trip and an absolute must! Ha Long Bay is amazing.
The Erina staff was super friendly and very helpful, especially Kim and Lucas, who looked after us.
We did have one small issue, we booked an extra large double bed but instead got two singles, Kim immediately offered to move us to a different room to accommodate our needs.
We would definitely recommend this cruise!
Great trip.
Mr. Harry is the #1 guide and was very informative and attentive. Made the experience very comfortable for our entire group. The driver was most likely the most consistent driver I have ever had the privilege of driving with.
Trip from Hanoi to Ha Long bay took about 3 hours of traffic depending. The bus was comfortable with aircon and water.
The boat trip (2 days/1 night) was a ball.
Amazing experience from beginning to end! The service is over the top incredible & we enjoyed every moment. The food was delicious, the staff was so accommodating, and the views were breathtaking. Our butler Jason was so kind and helpful, we loved having him! Nar and Tevez were as also really great. I highly recommend this cruise, it’s the best option in Ha Long Bay.
The food is excellent. Our tour guide, Hiếu, is friendly and funny, and always tries to take care of us. He also gave us some tips on where to buy souvenirs in Hanoi. The cruise went though amazing scenery and I'm so so so glad we booked this one because it does feel like we own the place ourselves, without being surrounded by other cruises like in Ha Long Bay.
Good location in the middle of town, and for us getting a cruise in Ha Long Bay the next day.
Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable - it felt more like a 4-5* hotel rather than 3!
There was only us and one other guest staying at the same time, so it was very quiet too.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic views of Ha Long Bay. Reception and dining staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful. Rooms are modern, well appointed and comfortable. We had an issue with our initial room and staff resolved quickly even providing an upgraded room.
The owners are the nicest people ever!!
The best coffee in Vietnam, hands down.
Location is perfect for the pier, if you’re going for a tour to Ha Long Bay.
STAY HERE!
The natural beauty of Ha Long Bay is amazing. The staff was very accommodating of my wife’s allergies. The staff was very friendly, if a bit overbearing at times.
