The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They contacted us via WhatsApp before our trip and were enthusiastic in providing help. Upon our arrival, they briefed us patiently on everything. Whenever we went out and came back, they greeted us with warm and sincere smile. I can say this is not a 5-star hotel but their staff attitude is much above 5-star hotels.

    We liked exploring Hanoi and surrounds.

    We liked exploring Hanoi and surrounds. The food and coffee were great. Lots of nice Banh Mi places (especially Banh Mi 25) and we enjoyed eating at Met4. There are lots of nice day and overnight trips that can be done. Unfortunately we ran into a typhoon which prevented us from doing Ha Long bay and some other activities. Things we didn't like - Exploring Hanoi on foot was not easy as sidewalks were blocked by scooters and other things, forcing you to walk on roads which were full of cars, scooters, rickshaws etc. There was also lots of rubbish on the streets.

    I like the hustle of the Old Quarter, but what really shine...

    I like the hustle of the Old Quarter, but what really shine through was the Museum of Ethnology, very peculiar and informative. The food is always packed with fresh vegetables. The egg coffee at Đinh is a must try. It is a little hard to get around at first, but soon I felt like Moses parting the sea of traffic with my powers. A very unique experience.

    It was the perfect located hotel to experience the old original Hanoi with easy access to other areas. We ate in the hotel for our ease as we were not there long enough to discover other eating places. Absorbing the atmosphere of Hanoi and being able to walk around easily.

    Its worthwhile experience to stay in Hanoi Old Quarter to...

    Its worthwhile experience to stay in Hanoi Old Quarter to immerse in Vietnam's city living. Getting around its easy by walking or by booking Grab/Xanh. Its also generally safe and clean with very little hassle from vendors. Locals are able to converse in some English or at least rely on online translation on the mobile. Hoa Lo prison museum is a must for one who wish to understand Vietnamese struggles against colonialism and their fight for independence. Its also noteworthy that the Hanoi Mosque is over 100 years old and was saved from being damaged during the wars. Travelling in Hanoi in cooler months is recommended as the high temperature and humidity in hotter months is really challenging.

    The Ethnology museum is really good.

    The Ethnology museum is really good. There are a lot of traditional houses from different regions built in the grounds. We spent 4 hours there, fascinationg. The Water Puppet show is good entertainment. Everyone does Train Street, again an interesting feature, trains pass twice per day, you will be hassled to buy things, but sitting for a drink and watching the train is nice.

    We had a brilliant stay at Salute. The staff were always friendly, smiley and helped us with everything we needed. It was our first time in Vietnam and they were so informative about all of the places to go, food to try, and even organised fabulous day trips for us. Also the breakfast every morning was 5 star and hotel is in a very convenient location close to the old quarter. We cannot thank the team enough for a great stay!

    It was my 2nd time in this hotel and I had a better room this time with a big window for a view of the outside. I think room was even more cleaner this time. Nothing negative to say about this place if it is only the price that is a bit high compared to what I experienced in my 5 months in Vietnam but I still recommand or would return in the future if I go back in old quarter of Hanoi.

    A hotel above a convenience store sounds strange but was great .hotel is in the best spot in the old quarter overlooking turtle lake .and the manager Vincent was amazing soon polite and very accommodating to our needs he even wrapped our breakable things we had bought from danang. We are definitely going back to la belle Maison when visiting hanoi.

    We were recommended this hotel and rightly so: it’s a calm oasis in the centre of old quarter Hanoi with the train street 3 min walk away. The staff were amazing- Lucy booked extra trips and excursions, which worked perfectly. I would not hesitate to go back there. A 5 star hotel with a heart and great value.
